How would YOU contain the zombie apocalypse?

I would forget every one else and live on the Goodyear blimp with my friends, pimped out with extra deck space and cabins. When we ran low on food, water or gas you could just fly low, clear out the zombies with the minigun and jump down on top of wall-mart. Then use pulleys to get the stuff up, then climb a rope ladder to get back. And if I got bored of flying around playing xbox and drinking with my buds. I'd whip out my Cheytac and do some zombie sniping.

Take as much as the remaining population as is feasible to isolated islands, then have military outposts in the appropriate buildings (securible, medium to tall height) then keep refueling the staions with copious amounts of ammo, so that they can both kill the zombies, and create enough racket to keep the undead's attention. At least, that is how I would start to whittle away at their numbers.

I would, first and foremost, quarantine the zombie infection to the best of my ability. Helicopters shall be sent in to rescue survivors from the area, and everyone shall be taken away from the country, across a body of an ocean to another country. Naturally, some will be left behind. I will make super team to try and save these.

This team will consist of Will smith, Jill Valentine, Sam Raimi, Aldo Rain and other people of such nature. They will be close to 100 of them. Each of these will have their own tank, with space for survivors. These tanks will be armed with all types of ammunition: Missiles, Automatic rounds and ten-foot chainsaws.

I will also hire a team of the best researchers in the world, to do experiments on zombie rats, and find the cure. The special team mentioned above will then drop millions of liters of this cure onto the quarantined area. This will, if the plan goes well, cure every zombie. These researchers shall then be assigned to find a cure for death.

And then they just find the zombie virus as a cure for death, and everything starts all over again.

Me? call the police and lock my doors till it is over seeing how I am an ordinary person and do not hold any powers. Also, any actual bite infection break out would be put down in less than a day, leaving airborne where everyone would be dead. Airborne you are screwed and can not do anything about it anyway. I wouldn't nuke. What if the radiation doesn't kill them? Plus you'd have to deal with the fallout. Set the army up in the major cities with basic guns, tell 'em to shoot for headshots, and when the major cities are clear, sweep the rural areas. Problem solved.

If Left 4 Dead is correct and zombies are attracted to noise, I would carry around hundreds of those air horns, tape down the buttons in tight situations and throw them in a corner. Then I would disappear into the shadows and make my escape...

What level infestation is this? I mean if it's a level 4, or even level 3, it really can't be combatted and we should just find a safe place and hide there. I would go to an island far off the coast of any major places (zombies can't swim, and they could only go so far walking underwater before either getting stuck or decomposing), making sure I brought a lot of people with me, in a lot of professions. We would have a society on this island, with communication between other survivor colonies, if possible, and we would wait it out. 10-20 years later, we would go back, armed, to the mainland and see what things are like there.

Begin by identifying the infected area. Quarantine it. Seize control of an airbase or airport just outside to handle any aircraft inside. Anyone coming out of said zone must be kept in quarantine for at least 72 hours. Anyone who tries to escape quarantine will be killed. Helicopters will be deployed to escort civilian convoys.

The actual perimeter will be manned by soldiers. There will be no gaps. At first, tanks will be used as guard posts, to be replaced by proper fortifications, including a large concrete wall.

Once the perimeter is fuly secure, we will begin to push forward. As earlier, tanks will form a temporary perimeter until a wall is built. Buildings will be searched by the best commandos I can find, wearing the best armor modern science can produce (possibly titanium plate armor). If possible, someone familiar with the building (someone who worked or lived there) will be assigned to mission control, to make sure they search every section.
