Shoot them. Yes the movie wasn't realistic. I haven't seen it but from the trailer it seems that an entire army with guns etc can't take down a load of gorillas with spears.

I haven't seen it, but this. Just kill the fucking things. We have more ways of killing things, and still the apes take over? Forget that shit. Use whatever you can find, sanction ape killing days and rally up. No more smart apes. Humanity can continue going on it's merry way, and say hey remember when we had to kill a bunch of apes to survive.

There were others, I'm sick of scrolling. Anyway, to you and all the others saying this, let me just advise you all to go see the movie. Really. The trailers make it look retarded, I shared your skepticism. I went to see it to laugh at it. But trust me, it's not what you think.

Basically, the movie isn't about the apes taking over, it's about how they were "created". The scene at the end is them crossing the Golden Gate bridge to the redwoods beyond, to live. They have no intention of taking over. Hell, their leader stops them killing any humans. It's a good movie.

Sure it was our fault that they became super intelligent in the first place so we have to take some reasonability for it. Discriminate and eradicate a species won't do (past history and other films is the evident of that). Seriously a war of death wouldn't had happen (on both side) if we simply get along with each other.
