Mine didn't turn out the way I know it was intended due to a tracheotomy when I was 7 when they severed my vocal chords, leaving me unable to scream since I was that age. But it falls more into a baritone range which I've been told is quite nice by the ladies. Frankly, I don't care what guys have to say about it since their opinions don't really matter since I'm not trying to pick up any guys. But it doesn't often come across as harsh, only my opinions do.
When I first got in to broadcasting, I was quite nervous about how my voice sounded due to the whole tracheotomy thing, it hasn't left me with a lot of confidence there. As time has passed, it is just one of those things that you can't change so you might as well accept it and be happy it isn't any worse. I've run in to people with trachs before that had to push on their voice box in order to talk and they sound horrible... I'm pretty damn fortunate I didn't end up that bad, but I have grown up to absolutely hate the sound of screaming. Not out of jealousy, but just that I find it often unneeded and abrasive.
For an example of my voice, check out my YouTube channel, the link is on my profile (shameless plug). I'm not really promoting myself, but in case you are curious if I sound like a weird freak or not... beats me having to promote the internet radio show.
