High resolution graphics and an HDMI output. The polycount and textures are fine, but 480p? Looks like ass on my $2000 LCD.

I really really am dissapointed in my WII. I have a gamefly subscription and literally have gone through about 10 games that are either fun for 5 minutes, awful for the whole time, or completely unfinishable.

My Suggestions:

1. Stop putting COD and other FPS shooters that you can find on a PC on the WII. Yes these are games I WOULD play if I didn't have a PC that can play them with 100 times the graphics and controls.

2. Start making more MA games.

3. Stop with the stupid Japanese RPG characters in every flippin game on you put out. Seriously no more spikey hair he/she's

4. Stop overusing the Wiimote controls. Seriously we don't need 10 different motions in a game.

5. Drop the Nunchuk motion controls. Except for very few games using the nunchuk motion controls are retarded.

I wouldn't change a thing about the Wii (well, I might release that update to make the WiiMote work better, last I checked that still wasn't out), I'd just stop any game from being licensed unless the developers blood went into it. No more of these crappy mini-games. Make an effort or go away.

I think the reason why nintendo wii is not doing well as compared to PS3 is because of the nintendo's stand against games that are downright violent. An example would be the GTA series which all of us know that it is one of the most popular games today, and gained almost perfect scores in most gaming review sites. With such gaming censorship that targets to protect the young players, nintendo would lose older players that generally likes games that contains violence.
But Nintendo has GTA so... yeah moot point.
Don't forget no more heroes, call of duty, mad world, manhunt, resident evil and all of those other violent wholesome family games :p

I want a game in which i use 2 Wii-motes - wielded as 2 sword or sword and shield or whatever combination i happen to pick at the time, i want to use the Wii fitboard to walk/run and i want Wii Goggles that make my view 3d fighting hordes of demons, hacking left and right, being able to rage at the environment around me and tear down whatever remnant of society dares to stand before my fiery wrath!!

What i'm getting at with this is that i want a little immersion in the Wii games
I've not played many but the ones i have played and/or seen material about all make me say "oh yeah, i'd pick that up for a while, complete it and never touch it again"
MGS on the playstation however i lost days of my life to

I think to make the Wii better, you remove those armbands for it and enable it to be thrown at the TV again

...

Would be fun.

Honestly during this day and age u need good graphics and hardcore games thats all it really lacks.

Mario games are good but theres a million of them wat about

Link,Samus,Pit,Fire Emblem Character,Dk,Travis Touchdown,

These characters have either 1 or no games on the wii, and why can't i use wi-fi and play with my miis online Wii play would be addictive if that was the case.

Manhunt 2? Resident Evil 4? No More Heroes? Madworld?
Also, I don't believe that just because someone is older they will only play games with violence in, that's a very narrow view to have.

It's all about the games. The Wii itself is a fine console - sure, it'd be nice if it did high-definition output, but it's not necessary, and so long as you're willing to spend a bit of time and effort on a game, you can get good results (sadly, I've read that most developers themselves don't actually take their own Wii projects seriously). Unfortunately, videogames have become a business in which risk is to be avoided, and most companies are not as bold as Nintendo.

This is really a problem of the videogame industry as a whole, and not just Nintendo. Why take a chance when you can release another blockbuster Call of Duty or Halo and be guaranteed a profit on name alone? The fact of the matter is, the "informed" consumer base of the videogame industry is an incredibly small number of people compared to the total market. You think you run into enough ignorant people online? Try real life. Most people who buy and play games have no idea what Kotaku, The Escapist, NeoGAF, or hell, even IGN are; the discussions we hold and debates we wage in this circle of the Internet are insignificant compared to the rest of the market, who would view them as trite nerd wars over a bunch of toys. Most people just want a silly, fun game to play, and they have no real standard of quality, no benchmark, no method for critical appraisal.

This (relatively) uninformed consumer is the norm, not the exception, and it's very easy to fool ourselves into thinking that we, the geeks who spend all day talking about video games online, number in the dozens of millions. Just as crappy, repetitive franchises sell great, so too do licensed games, and so too do pathetic third-party Wii games. When the market is more concerned with Carnival Games than Metroid Prime, you have a serious fucking problem on your hands if you have any shred of artistic integrity... and a serious money tree if you don't. Things are finally starting to improve, but the fact that it took this long to reach the sorry state we still find ourselves in, with most Nintendo fans desperately waiting for the next first-party offering, shows how far there is still to go.

...What are you talking about? This isn't 1994 (where minory nudity, the name "Holy", and I believe the state of Katarin and Duane's relationship were all changed) or 1995 (where the blood in Doom was colored green). Nintendo haven't done any real censorship since the release of the N64.

Nintendo don't do any violent games themselves. That's their choice, because they're not that kind of a company, but they do NOT enforce this policy on any of their third (or even second) party developers.

Finally, as a piece of hardware, is doing extremely well against the PS3. It's sold twice as many units, and Nintendo have a slight profit margin for every console they sell.

Smack every "BAAAAAW I DON'T HAVE MY SHOOT 'EM-UP!"-type person in their immense unpleaseable fanbase upside the head with the very WiiMote that they bash and give them "business 101", that the reason the Wii is selling so well is because Nintendo knows what to target the games for, and that's why we're drowning in FPSes and why EA still exists.

Simply put....fix the godamned whiny fanbase.

LESS WAGGLE

Seriously. Some games are great with waggle. Some games don't need waggle.

If you're game doesn't need waggle, shoehorning it in just makes the game worse.

As a side note, offer free upgrades for Motion+ instead of making people pay to make the console work the way you said it would in the first place.

there you have it folks, one mans opinion and not an original thing about it. the fact that he has no grasp of quality himself thinking that a nice big MA label will make a difference proves just how mature he is.

Give him a hand.
Wow did I kick your dog or something?

MA games aren't just a mature rating. MA games usually have deeper more complex story lines to appeal to people who are tired of rescuing princesses.

better. oline. features

you know, with a NICE chatroom and onlinesupport in ssbb and other games (and maybe a metroid online), the wii would have been the best console at the current generation, but with the 360s nice support, theyre even for me

Right now my household is PSWii and in comparing those two consoles (or even the PS2 & Wii) you have to realize that the Wii is trying to expand the market so I can understand a lack of hard core (not "core") titles.
That said, I think they also have to consider that they have some fans who have carried them since the NES and we need to be trown a bone every once in a while. If you had the NES, you're probably at an age where you might want to see more mature games. I think Nintendo needs to come up with a new franchise, a mature one that will lead to a lot of percussive gunshot sound coming from the wiimote and blood splatter on the screen.

I'm not saying they need to package it with the system, market it to families, I don't even care if the two old Japanese guys take it to anyones house. The protagonist doesn't have to be in the next Smash bros game and it doesn't have to be demoed at the world store. It doesn't have to push any envelopes or anything but it's not that hard to come up with fun ideas for the wiimote.

So far, the wii games that have bloodsplatter or anything mature, have been wiimakes from last gen (RE4) or really disappointing crap (No More Heroes) made by third party companies. And there's part of the problem, the only reason people rave about old games like RE4 or total crap like No More Heroes is because there are no new mature games that are up to par with the explosive action games from last gen. So gamers see NMH and think, hell, it's the only wii game with fountains of blood, I must love it and shamelessly hype it up or every wii game that follows will be made for 5 year olds. The problem is it's so crappy that other mature game developers see it and think hell, we don't have to work that hard to make those bozos happy, just some blood, cursing, and lame minigames & we're done.

The wiimote can work really well as a gun or sword and I don't think Nintendo is really taking advantage of that.
