Honestly I would add a New Game+ feature. How awesome would it be to go through the entire journey again except you have every single pokemon and item that you aquired from a previous journey and all other enemy pokemon are leveled to your pokemon's level. Would definetly make the task of leveling a pokemon from 70-100 a lot more fun.

Better multiplayer functionality. Hell, just make pokemon online or shoddy battle official.

eventually reboot the franchise. start new pokemon that doesn't involve the previous ones in anyway. (there will be too many of them soon enough)

Unfortunately, we are already there. The last Gen where I was able to complete the Pokedex was in Gen 3.

Anyway, create a new set of Pokemon (please toss out all the Gen 5 Pokemon) and have those Pokemon the only ones available until you beat the Elite Four. Also, new evolutions to existing Pokemon in the Pokedex (come on, we need an evolved from of Rapidash to be a flaming flying Pegasus).

A cool functionality that I would like have is the ability to join a Team. It doesn't have to be an evil team, but that option would still be available.

If you join a good team (Team Justice), they can occasionally give you rare items, let you know when there are rare Pokemon in a certain area, and give you missions to battle members of the evil team (Team Infamous) when in an area. If you join Team Infamous, they will let you battle trainers that will dish out a lot of EXP and cash, give you valuable items, and accessing certain areas only to Team Infamous.

Real time combat for the love of god!
Actually being able to dodge moves and feeling the consequences of slow reactions like the pokemon battles on the show would make the series 10 times more awesome!

Actual balance in Multiplayer
Also a matchmaking system akin to Pokemon: Battle Revolution, but with filters such as No legendaries etc.
Adding a basic attack much like struggle but weaker than tackle
Bosses that you cannot catch and have their own unique attacks (Imagine fighting a robot with your Pokemon)
No removal of chatot just because of the ability to use the voice thing, in fact, just remove that part and let us use him! Chatot is useful despite smogon saying "Oh its a NU, it's NEVER GOOD" (By the way, Smogon practically ruined Pokemon IMO)

Better looking Pokemon (Trubbish, the fucking candlewick, chandelier and Ice cream Pokemon were horrible) Galvantula, Golurk, Excadrill were A+ looking Pokemon.
Horrid Pokemon have existed since Mr. Mime and Jynx, who I feel are FAR WORSE than those. Besides, how could you forget for good design Scolipede, Hydreigon, Haxorus, and Mienshao?

I guess this would have to do with multiplayer, some kind of co-op story mode completely separate from the single player. I would love to run through the game with a friend. And I agree, New game+ would be awesome as well.

I've been expecting to see the end of the overhead view since the DS came out, and I really hope they will do away with it and make an actual 3D Pokemon game for the 3DS; I always felt like pokemon would be better off with free-roam movement.

I would also like to see them mix up the formula a little bit more, I want something other than the 8 gyms + elite 4 format they have been doing for over a decade.

Pokemon as a whole has never been too original (Squirtle...really, I wonder what that is based on) but has at least had consistency (with the exception of Mr Mime and Jynx) each gen has several shitty designs but come on, an blob of Ice-cream that evolves into an Ice-cream cone and that evolves into a double cone...at least with squirtle it evolved into a fucking giant turtle with cannons strapped to it's shell (awesome)

Gen 5 had some good designs and bad ones (like every gen) I was just giving examples and while I do like the designs of the ones you listed, still not as awesome as a steel armored mole, tarantula that shoots lightning and a freaking ghost giant!
Yeah...I blame my instincts. I get really angry when people complain "Oh the newer gens suck! Just look at this one bad pokemon that proves all the rest are bad!"

Though I could tell that YOU liked the 5th generation, even I complain about Vanilluxe and such.

-A New Game+ feature. Or how about this:
You can choose to be either a boy or a girl like always. But if you start as a boy, you start in Kanto and if you start as a girl, you start in Johto (I'm using Kanto and Johto because that's where I left off; I have no idea of the names for the new regions. Just an example). And then when you complete off, you start a completely new challenge where you go through something like the Orange Islands challenge from the series, a long tournament-style setting, but you're also allowed to bring in your Pokemon from your other journeys (You can somehow get the Pokemon from both journeys. I dunno). Also, you can explore the region and capture high-level and unique Pokemon that you can also use for the tournament.

I don't know, I'm just tired of the same old "Fight-badge-elite four-champion-something something-end" routine. One game that handled the replay value beautifully was Megaman X2 for the GBC. You played as X and defeated 4 Mavericks, then Zero in a new game and defeated another 4 Mavericks. Then another new game and you could switch between the two. Then one last new game (After you thought you had finished it for sure) which is shorter but you can go all out with your powers and stuff. it was a neat surprise to discover I haven't finished the game and I could play it again with a new feature.

Also, and this may contradict the Pokemon formula, stop releasing new Pokemon! Seriously! Where are we at? 700+?! Are you seriously expecting someone in this universe to catch them all?! Shouldn't you wait a couple of years before you ask kids to commit their lives to a game? We have more than enough Pokemon to go around; you just gotta figure out a way to do something useful with them instead of releasing a few new Pokemon every now and then and then throwing them aside when they stop being the new shiny toy.

1. New combat. The turn based is starting to wear on me. I wouldn't mind if the pace was faster so the random encounters didn't take up 10 hours of your time, but that's not the case. It just seems a bit dated. My blood boils every time I hit a random pokemon in the grass. Its INFURIATING.

2. STOP MAKING NEW REGIONS/POKEMON. Work on going in depth on what you have. Quality > quantity.

3. A game where I play as pokemon.......not playing stupid mini-games in a pokepark. Basically a different perspective would be nice. I know there are those pokeranger games, but how about Team Rocket? I would love to play a game where I don't start as a boy/girl, get my starter, fight my whiny rival, beat 8 gyms and become the champion. Like Zelda, you can only make the same game so many times before I get bored.

That's all I got

Pretty much agree with the points said so far, mainly:

1. New Game+
2. No more new pokemon, for a while at least.

I mean, don't get me wrong. Before I played Black and just looked at designs on Serebii I wasn't too keen to say the least. Then after actually playing the game I found myself actually liking a lot of the Gen 5 Pokedex. Point I'm trying to make is, yes I don't want new pokemon for a while, but that isn't because of nostalgia glasses or anything like that. It's simply because I'd like time for the latest batch, and some of the old'uns I guess, to sink in and be.. I dunno, appreciated? Like Don Savik says, giving the ones they have depth, working on quality rather than quantity.

Cannot agree more with this. Something that bugs me, is that instead of going with what would appear to be a natural, sensible evolution like the one you mentioned, instead they'll slap a whole new badge to it. You could say it doesn't make much difference in the end. Whether a flamng flying Pegasus is it's own entity entirely or a later form of Ponyta/Rapidash doesn't matter, it'll still function the same, look the same, etc etc. Yeah, you'd be right, I wouldn't argue against you. But on a personal level, I'd prefer they work with what they have instead of churning out new stuff like there's no tomorrow. Goes back to the previous point: giving depth to what they have.

Apart from that I'd just like a deeper story. (I know it's a kids game, but B/W took a surprising step forward that I hope they continue)

Oh. And justified legendaries. But I won't go into that one too much, don't want to (potentially) start arguments.

Start with the combat so that counter types are no longer hard counters. In it's simplest form this would be reducing the type bonus pokemon get against those weak to it. Further development would need to be tested to much to give any kind of reasonable explanation.

Some kind of end game beyond multiplayer. This could be having NPCs become available to battle again once the game has been beaten with their pokemon levels scaling to that of your teams'. This scaling could also apply to wild pokemon.

A new arena area for end game where your opponents have randomly assembled pokemon compositions and who's levels scale to that of your on hand pokemon.

I'm a sucker for character customization so how about that? At the very least they could give you multiple designs to choose from. It's really not asking that much, honestly, compared to all of the more common demands made by fans like a new battle system or making an MMORPG.

Also make more games that let you back track to other regions. I would love to have a game with all of them. If that's done, though, then preferably they would do limit the Pokemon available in each region to species introduced in that generation. Obviously exceptions would have to be made for evolutionary lines and location (Johto and Kanto would have overlap since they're so close, for example) and certain species (like the various flying types) would migrate so would only be available during certain seasons (which there happens to be a system for now *wink* *wink*).
