Generally just stop making more generations of Pokémon. I seriously don't know any from generation 3 and 4.

Make a Pokemon game that is a free-roaming 3D RPG, with a combat system like in Final Fantasy. I'd love to see that.
Lol, it is already free roaming (more or less) and it already has a combat system like Final Fantasy. Random encounters, turn based, have to flip through lots of menus to do stuff.

I think the games could be improved by fully-rendered 3D graphics, character customization, and more nooks and crannies and sidequests to explore.
I know, but if i had just said "Pokemon just in full-3D" I probably wouldn't have exceeded the minimum post word count.

Nah, all you had to do was flash it up a bit, make it a complete sentence. "I think Pokemon would be much better if it were the same, just in full 3D."

I've had this idea about a game that features every region. You start in sort of a neutral place and then go off to your first region of choice. You get the starter from there and travel throughout the routes and towns and eventually defeat the Pokémon League there, thus earning a trophy. There would obviously have to be some changes with the Kanto and Johto leagues, or possibly a merging of them. After you get the trophy, you return to the neutral area with your Pokémon. However, in order to go to the next region you must leave the Pokémon you have caught in a special PC that can only be accessed from regions you have beaten. You then travel through the second region with a whole new starter and other Pokémon. This repeats until you've beaten every region, at which point you can access the world Pokémon championship with your best and brightest Pokémon from every region.

In essence, I just want a game that features every region.
This, this, THIS. I would LOVE to be able to pick which of the five regions to start out in, then after going through that region's Gyms and Elite Four, move onto the next region. Would need some scaling and such, like only being able to bring your starter to a new region Ash-style, but that would be a very nice change.

Too bad there's very little chance of this happening, simply because there would be no need to buy another game.

An end-of-game training area with monsters separated by EV yield. And less hidden information for players. (i.e., what your IVs are) A lot more people would battle competitively(without cheating!) if it wasn't about cryptic bullshit. Everything you need to know should be in the game, you shouldn't need two-three different web sites for it.

A story different to "Get starter, get 8 badges, beat the League" - Black/White did this a little but I want the whole Pokemon League thing to just be optional. Why do I have to be the Champion? Why can't I join Team Rocket? Or open my own Gym? Or join the police?

More 3D story based games or making an mmo.

Making the actual formula better is tough.

I suppose more use of your pokemon outside of battle. No simple attacks to help with obstacles. Easily riding pokemon etc.
Making it so HMs don't have to take up an attack slot would be nice.

Full 3D with your lead Pokemon out of it's Pokeball or if you want, sitting on your shoulder depending on it's size. The bigger Pokemon are obviously going to have to be scaled down.

Game should be open world with no random battles.

When you tell your Pokemon to fight it moves around and uses the basic tackle and scratch moves automatically, the move powerful moves are commanded by the trainer. There would be a dodge command that is dependent on the speed and evasiveness of your Pokemon plus the accuracy of the attacking Pokemon's move. Some moves are harder to dodge than others.

Too bad something that actually shakes up the formula is never going to come.

Make it a lifestyle game(yknow like they had secret bases or getting that villa in diamond)
customizable characters, age, shape, hair
You can get a house or a gym with all the money you save and you have to pay rent.
You can get married/engaged/girlfriend(not to pokemon)
Also be able to battle paint your pokemon for cooler colors since most shinies are stupid anyway.

Actually make them look original like they did in the first two gens. And a mix of types that haven't been mixed yet.

- Better multiplayer.
- Better Pokemon cries when sent out, not just a low quality blurt of sound.
- An actually good RPG where you play as a Pokemon, no Mystery Dungeon crap.
- Maybe a new game on a console, not a handheld.
