Well the reply was more on the joking side really. But I stick by my point that WW2 has been done so many times, I don't see what more a new WW2 game could have to offer. Especially when the games are going to focus specifically on major battles like they always do.Mornelithe said:You'd be wrong. If you think Easy Company and the 501st, a solitary russian sniper, and a platoon of British SAS soldiers were the only stories out of WW2...well, I'm sure you can see the fallacy in that train of thought. There are thousands of stories still left to be told about ACTUAL conflicts, World War 1, 2, Vietnam, Korea, etc... If I wanted made up conflicts, I'd play Stalker: Clear Skies.cantthinkofausername said:I'm sure if you combine the Medal of Honor and CoD series as well as some other less-popular WW2 games, you'd have every operation in the entire war.Mornelithe said:Re-skin it as a WW2 era game, as it should be. MW warfware and made up conflicts are weak.
OT: I demand Prestige edition be less expensive so I can have real life night-vision.
Less joking OT: Stop doing the "Co-op ruins the experience" crap and just make it. Even if it's split-screen I demand the ability to play campaign with a friend.
No I agree, I just thought I'd share that advice since I've done it more times than I can count. I jam on X to get back in the game and BOOM! I spawn next to a teammate who is being carpet-bombed. It's best to wait the extra 5 seconds. Or ya know, just don't die. EVER.ssgt splatter said:OK, wait a minute. You don't control where you respawn. You're advice is admirable but the game shouldn't spawn you in the air-strike zone.Thunderhorse31 said:Pro-tip: If you die during an airstrike, DO NOT MASH THE "RESPAWN" BUTTON.ssgt splatter said:If you're like me, you're a little P.O.'ed about spawning in the middle of an airstrike

Spawn invunerability. Or specific "safe" areas around the map.Thunderhorse31 said:OT: Can you really make a spawn system where you never spawn in danger? Ever?
I'll take a stab at it: with consoles, developers have to pay a fee for the company to allow the game on their system. They also have to comply with other demands of the console owning company. It isn't absurd to think the company would want to improve profits by upping prices. With the PC, you don't have a company that owns the platform to go through. That's my guess, anyway.ygetoff said:May I ask why most PC versions of games are cheaper? I've always wondered about that.x434343 said:-Reduce price of PC version to $50

Well seeing as this is an American franchise and America is obsessed with our apparent awesomeness in WW2, they probably will keep the main characters American, and some other significant power that an autistic 2 year old baby would know of.JimmyBassatti said:What about the Tuskini [I think that's what it was] Raiders or whatever? The African-American squad? We have yet to play as them. Come to think of it, you never see African-Americans in WWII games... I'm glad that COD 2 was in Africa though. I get tired of the same German city, or the same Japanese island/forest. They did have war in Africa. They even were in Iraq during WWII [Is that were COD 2 was set? I only played the demo for the 360, I wouldn't know :S]
Well, according to VGChartz while WAW outsold COD4 initially the sales have dropped off, and it's about half a million units behind COD4 at the same stage of its shelf life - and there's been a recent surge in COD4 sales. With MW2 coming out in November I doubt we're going to see either title selling consistently for much longer.Mornelithe said:That's your opinion, not mine, and given the sales numbers on World at War, I'd be inclined to disagree with you, that 'everyone' is sick of WW2. The OP asked for personal opinions. That's what I'd do.

All of this can be done with the wonders of modding. i bet we will see guns that shoots shurikens, lasers, nukes, etc soon after release, just like as for any other FPS.joe182 said:A gun that pulls people from Yahtzee's ass.HardRockSamurai said:A gun that shoots shurikens and lightening.
OT: If they haven't got it in the game, customizable clothing.
I know they had Africans. Apparently their missions are less intense. Or something. Maybe at one point developers will make a game for the history instead. That'd be cool.JimmyBassatti said:They had Africans from America in the military. They had their own little group, too. Why don't we get to play as one of them?cantthinkofausername said:Well seeing as this is an American franchise and America is obsessed with our apparent awesomeness in WW2, they probably will keep the main characters American, and some other significant power that an autistic 2 year old baby would know of.JimmyBassatti said:What about the Tuskini [I think that's what it was] Raiders or whatever? And I never played CoD 2. So I'm at a loss here.
And in COD 2, your a British troop in some place with sand and Arabian-like buildings, but Tunisia was in Africa, but I'm pretty sure it was an Arabian city/country [I forget what Tunisia was].
Is just right. Liam Neeson voicing everyone would be amazing.Fanusc101 said:Liam Neeson voicing everyone
