if i manage to see the icon, i use that split second to jump backwards, that always saves me.Zefar said:I'm the guy that rush with shotgun/MP44/Machine gun. The people with Matyr perk just stops my fun because when I shoot them a bit far away and then keep pushing I see the grenade icon pop up. Seeing it's an instant death being pretty much anywhere near it you'll end up dead.Whistler777 said:Aww, did someone forget to move after shooting?Zefar said:Removing Matyr from the perk list. If they haven't already removed it.
It might make MP a BIT more about skill rather than how many times you get kills with grenades from Matyr.
You are never able to turn back and run away before it blows up.
yes you do, you need to die, and it´s not "noobish" its just a big "take that" (read F#%K YOU) from the guy you just killed, i think its a good perk, it gets everyone on their toes and it changes the strategy, and if what you say is true (you push gunning and running) you should have enough time to get away, i ussually play shot gun and i am always able to get away from one i just killed, there is enough time.Zefar said:I doubt you have a 90% dodge ratio on Matyr. Seeing that other people could have killed the guy around a corner which have happened a lot to me.Whistler777 said:You're almost always able to avoid a Martyrdom grenade. Shipment is the exception to this.
If, as you described, you shoot them from medium-long range and then rush forward, you'd be able to hear the sound of the 'nade dropping. Play with headphones (good quality ones, not your Ipod earbuds) and you'll see what I mean.
I got good headphones but I already hear if grenades drop even with the normal speakers, thing is when I kill them are often so far away that the sound is just to low. So when I get to them I have about 1-2 seconds to get away after trying to run past the corpse.
But with all the shooting and air strikes going on pretty much every map it's rather hard to locate that grenade sound of dropping on distance. I still hear good thou, in Counter Strike Source I can hear those footsteps pretty clear because shooting isn't going on 24/7. It does in COD4.
The range I shoot them on could be classed as medium to short.
Matyr is just the noobiest perk in the game and I have no problem with any other. The reason this perk is noobish is because you don't need to do ANYTHING to get a kill with it.
You definitely did. GI made a joke that a fully functioning M4 Carbine with thumbsticks should be included, instead of night vision goggles.ShotgunSmoke said:I don't read Game Informer and I definitely didn't steal it.Sh0ckFyre said:Way to steal that from Game Informer.ShotgunSmoke said:The special edition would come with a M4A1, not with some lame, plastic googles.
Modern Warfare 2 looks perfect the way it is. I would get rid of the Semtex, Juggernaut, and Martyrdom.
Well... let's take Left 4 Dead's A.I. Director and adapt it to read a multiplayer map to identify the dangerous areas so that the game DOES NOT spawn you in the middle of a fire-fight. Maybe on the outskirts of one but not in the middle of one.Thunderhorse31 said:No I agree, I just thought I'd share that advice since I've done it more times than I can count. I jam on X to get back in the game and BOOM! I spawn next to a teammate who is being carpet-bombed. It's best to wait the extra 5 seconds. Or ya know, just don't die. EVER.ssgt splatter said:OK, wait a minute. You don't control where you respawn. You're advice is admirable but the game shouldn't spawn you in the air-strike zone.Thunderhorse31 said:Pro-tip: If you die during an airstrike, DO NOT MASH THE "RESPAWN" BUTTON.ssgt splatter said:If you're like me, you're a little P.O.'ed about spawning in the middle of an airstrike
Only YOU can prevent spawn-death![]()
OT: Can you really make a spawn system where you never spawn in danger? Ever?
I wasn't aware that they made a joke like that. As I mentioned before, I don't read GI, therefore I can't be aware of their jokes.Sh0ckFyre said:You definitely did. Upon extended thought though, MW2 needs the XM8. If you don't know what the XM8 is or looks like, get with the times!
yes i have to admit, the idea that they made you invincible for like 3 seconds is a good concept since its could of stopped spawn killing.ssgt splatter said:AMEN brother!DannyBarnes said:is it only me who gets bored of cod?
i mean yeh its a good FPS most proabably one of the best out there,
but its abit how should i say this.....REPETITIVE
also if they want to make it better why dont they stop the fucking glitches people find??
its abit stressfull wen your getting sniped from a guy in a turban who's standin in mid-air on top of a impossible to climb building, just sayin like
Spawn Protection for about 2-3 seconds. If you're like me, you're a little P.O.'ed about spawning in the middle of an airstrike or in the middle of a fire-fight and dying right away.
