Is this really a 'right' or 'wrong' situation?

For example: When I'm referring to my Aunt, I pronounce it ANT.
But there are regions in Canada (East coast I think) who pronounce it AUH-NT.
Nice Sterotype. I say ANT and im an east coast canadian.
Well I suppose it could be the prairies! It wasn't like I was saying how every East Coaster says 'Iz the by oo billz de boat'! And I even made a point of saying it wasn't a big deal!

Yeesh! You crazy East Coasters!
Well, at least you aren't from Quebec.

I say it meh-lay.
Because I'm too lazy to say may-lay.
I say meh-lay, but that's how it's supposed to be pronounced in the UK, like lieutenant is pronounced left-tenant and titanium tit-tanium

Ok, so i was having a discussion over a few games with some friends of mine, and we were discussing the word "Melee" but he pronounced it funny, so my question to you is this. Do you pronounce it "Mee-Lee" or "May-Lay" i myself pronounced it "May-Lay" where as he said "Mee-Lee" so which one do you choose?
I'd say both are wrong.

Mel (as in Melanie) ay (as in pay) Mel-ay.

I say it "meh-lay" because I heard the guild master say it that way on fable 1 and I've said it that way since.

I also pronounce it as Meh-lee, but that might just be my sometimes horrid Flemish accent.
I have no idea really.

Everyone that says 'mee-lee' is wrong and possibly stupid. It's French, written mêlée - with accents. The circumflex over the e and the e-acute makes it 'meh-lay.' Sortof.

mê·lée [http://www.answers.com/topic/mel-e], to be precise. I usually just said meh-liè or something, well I've never really learned to write phonetically.

I pronounced it "mee-lee" until I bought Super Smash Bro. Melee and booted it up for the first time.
Announcer: SUPER SMASH BROTHERS... MAY-LAY!
Me: Oh.
