Half Life movie must be done in the first person and Gordon shouldn't talk, no need for fancy, expensive actors then. Well not for the lead role anyway...

He looks like him, actually when I first a picture of Gordon Freeman I thought it was him, but I don't think he should have dialogue, being a silent protagonist and stuff.

No, Freeman already exists. He is currently working at the Large Hadron Collider, planning our impending doom.
Holy shit o.o So should we be worried if we ever see him wheeling a trolley near a laser thingy?

No, it should be a CG, maybe even animated movie, and if Gordon has a voice then this way they can find the perfect match, instead of having to compromise with appearance.

There is no in game evidence that he even looks like that, it's all just the box art.
I uh...what's your logic here?

The depiction of Gordon on the box-art is EXACTLY the same Gordon we play as.
Due to Valve's hatred of cutscenes, and the lack of reflective surfaces, you never get to see Gordon Freeman's face in the actual games. That, combined with the lack of legs when you look down means that we have no in game evidence that he is anything more than a disembodied pair of hands.
The box art is the only thing that says he looks like that.

Right, but this again begs the question: Why would Gordon look different than the box-art? The box-art is official from Valve; it makes little sense for them to just put some random guy on the box.

I APPROVE OF THIS!

Gordon and Laurie looks pretty much the same as seen here:

It would be cool to make the movie from the perspective of some other random Black Mesa employee with Freeman's only contribution to the movie being a couple of scenes where he runs past the main cast with a blank stare and a crowbar. It wouldn't destroy the character and Valve would be able to tell their story from a fresh perspective.

As a major house fan and Half Life fan, this combonation would be very interesting! Though its a long shot! Hugh Laurie, is also a dirctor and producer of House, similar to Mark Harmon in NCIS.
Well, it seems we have reached the point in society where we copy each other due to lack of creativity, so a Half Life movie is soon to come out!
Though the film would be low budget and Hugh Laurie is now rolling with the big guns its unlikley.

Yeah it's about time for House to STFU...
By the way, does anyone remember Hugh Laurie's cameo in The Young Ones?

Does a Half Life movie even need Freeman?

Radical idea I know, but, considering he doesn't talk and is essentially just there to reflect plot onto from other characters, surely a character from the resistance would be more interesting?

Him not appearing would not only annoy the uber geeks ( a huge bonus ), but would free up things to make a great movie not too locked into a plot.

Speaking of the movie, I hope a lot of people are away of the Purchase Brothers work on 'Escape from City 17', it's looking pretty damn fine.

Well, alright, but only if he doesn't talk. If he's gonna talk, he has to be voiced by Ross Scott, maker of Freeman's Mind. Any other voice would sound really weird to me. Besides:

He looks pretty darn close, right?
my head just exploded...

dammit...now i feel like playing all of them again...cept the first one...not saying its a bad game (its bloody awesome) but i can only take so much frustration...
