Loving the game so far, doesn't hold your hand one bit. Ended up in a room with a dude whose hand turns into a minigun. Start dying multiple times. Low on ammo, one clip of combat rifle, sixty 10mm rounds, thirty shotgun shells, and a whole lotta implants for hacking.

How to kill?

I found that Barrett was the toughest boss in the game. EMP grenades are a good idea to try and slow him down, explosive grenades are good too. The best thing you can use against him is the Typhoon upgrade, it should only take 3 blasts to kill him. There is also ammo for guns scattered around the room if you can get to them.

He is fairly easy to beat if you use the resources available to you. There are gas canisters, fire extinguishers and explosive barrels around the room. Throw either gas or the fire extinguishers at him to stun him. Then throw explosive barrels at him while he is stunned. That plus 1 or 2 shots with a pistol killed him for me.

Interesting. One thing I've found is that the cover system is way to sticky to be helpful in this particular situation.

start throwing #$%^ at him

preferably the green tanks with the biohazard symbol, and when he is puking his guts out start throwing the red barrels.

God help you on the second boss though :)

With him just duck behind pillars if he starts shooting at you. Don't bother with the cover button. It will just slow you down.

All I did was pick up the explosive barrels, chuck 'em at him and *BANG*...boss dead.
Yup, this tactic works pretty well.
I remember I went into it before with a shit ton of ammo and still didn't put the bastard down, so next time out, I flung shit at him. 3 red barrels and a biohazard one later, victory was mine.

It also took about 30 seconds using the barrel tactic, compared to the 3 minute firefight I endured before hand. So, yeah, barrels or Typhoon is the way to go.

Doesn't hold your hand? Apart from being stupid easy, having an I WIN button, NPCs being half blind and everything of importance getting a neon outline you mean?

Anyway there are two rooms on the side where the guy has trouble pathfinding, plus there are extra items, mostly a combo of taze and explosives kills the bosses.
Just for the love of christ don't use regular guns because I tested Barret and he will eat 150 headshots from an assault rifle before he goes down, no I am not kidding.

I killed Barret by first throwing 1 concussion grenade at him and shooting his face alot.

So throw concussion gren, look away, wait for the flash, go iron sights and unload a full clip right into his face (assault rifle).
After that you repeat the following 2 steps a couple times: 1 get behind cover while Barret overheats his gun + 2 unload a full clip in his face. X5

Run right, gas canister in his face.
Fun forward, red explosive barrel in his face.
Run back, second gas canister in his face.
Run along the wall to the corner behind him and get a second explosive barrel to his face.
Dead Barrett.

top left corner of the room is another smaller room. if you hide behind the weapons cabinet in that room barrett will have a hide time harming you here - although the odd grenade might catch you, but its rare. hide, wait til he gives up, he'll walk off, attack with pistol or rifle. rinse and repeat til dead

Hand holding does not equate to difficulty. While the game itself is relatively easy, apart from these annoying boss fights, nothing is jammed down your throat.

You aren't shoved down one path, there are dozens of ways to approach any given situation, and all of them are equally viable. You don't have to do exactly what the game wants you to to complete your objectives.

Anyways, I beat the guy by throwing shit at him. I should try that with refrigerators next. Sadly it also meant that I missed one of the side quests in Detroit with the Cholo guy.

And Zhukov, no, no I haven't. Isn't there a place where I can store guns I'm not using? The DLC shotgun and sniper take up so much space and I never take them out.

If you leave them in your apartment they won?t disappear.

I used the Typhoon upgrade for every bossfight. The Typhoon is kind of a ingame cheat and it felt like the designers were saying "look, we know our bossfights are sucking, but here you go, enjoy the rest of the game.".
