Ok if you can't be bothered or are unable to click this link for whatever reason, allow me to expand.

In short a 15 year old boy appears to have been pushed off a multi storey car park.

However having been told the full story allow me to tell you exactly what happened which the paper hasn't printed.

This young lad goes to the school near me, is a quiet kid, keeps his head, down, like many of us here, just got on with it.

He got bullied, called names like "geek" "nerd" etc etc, but found solace in computers, from building them to coding, he loves them.

He got speaking to someone on the internet who is 20 years old.

This 20 year old man said to this boy that he had a computer part the boy had been searching for, so having agreed to meet this man ( i know it's idiotic to meet someone from the internet having never had any contact with them except online but i don't know what was going through this lad's head therefore i won't pass judgment).

Anyway he gets to the car park to meet this bloke, to which the bloke says that the computer part is in the back of his car , so the young lad walks to the back of the car, to find a couple of this blokes mates (hired goons would probably be an appropriate term here), where upon they beat the living shit out of him and dangled him over the edge by his fingers, and then slowly one by one pulled his fingers off the ledge and watched him fall.

the young lad is now having surgery to repair both his legs and his back, doctors are unsure of whether they can save one of his legs or not.

Opinion time
Now, don't get me wrong i think humans have the potential to be dicks but this absolutely
takes the piss, i mean the lad was 15, a complete sociophobe and they took advantage, if it was just a simple beating ( not that this is acceptable either ) then it may not have turned out so bad, but the fact that having basically beaten him unconscious, then proceeded to drop him over a ledge and slowly made him release his grip on the ledge, makes me realize that my town of Ipswich is absolutely going to hell, but what scares me even more is that stuff like this happens every where, from war veterans getting beaten for the sake of maybe a few quid, or a child getting run over and killed only for the driver to speed off ( if you are interested in these stories links are below).

Please share your thoughts on what i can only describe as humans with cancer of the intellect.

Apologies for the wall of text.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Point out in my previous statement exactly where I said animals never kill. No seriously, I will pay you if you accomplish this.

My point is a whale doesn't wake up and think "I'm not fond of them dolphins. I might have about 6million of them killed".

I would say this is par for the course for humans. It is a shame that stories like this are the only ones we ever hear about (although it is important to hear about them) because there are really good people out in the world who are the exact opposite of these scum bags. The reason we never hear reports about charity workers giving untold amounts of their time and energy to help those less fortunate is because the sensationalist media wants to grab your attention so as to get better ratings and subscriptions. In short, for every sick and twisted scum bag, there is a kind-hearted, upstanding, and virtuos person.

Before you all become melodramatic and say humanity is failing. That day, those people threw him off of a car park. How many people in the world didn't do something like that? A LOT MORE. So if you are going to let the acts of few damned the many...then I could say YOU may belong to that few. Good day.

humanity was/is/and will always be imperfect, though i do admit that there are good humans, but not enough of them.

We are also not disgusting, because we can look at this type of thing and realize that its wrong.
Very good point.
And I also want to include is that all these Generalizations are not necessary. Just because there's a few bad people doesn't mean the species as a whole is degenerate. There are good people, its just evil deeds are easier to remember than good ones (sad).

Saying all humans are monsters because a few of them do nasty things is like saying all black people are thieves because one of them steals your car. Blanket generalizations are not the way to go.

So? All this proves is that there are assholes out there. Does that make humanity worthless, regardless of every scientist working to cure sicknesses, every champion for human rights, every honorable soldier who's fought for their country, every teacher who strives to educate their students, every developer/actor/director/writer/musician who puts effort into entertaining people?

This whole "faith in humanity" is, at its best, very flimsy. At its worst, some sort of justification for things "contraceptive bombs." Really?
Amen.

Humans are mixed bag, just as capable of good as they are of evil.

Well some animals do kill other animals for no real reason, but that's kind of irrelevant.

I'll respond to that with what Scotth266

No, human beings ARE a cancer. A plague if you will. Just as Agent Smith from The Matrix said.
We spread, consume, and multiply; and in the process destroy EVERYTHING! Even ourselves, which is truly pathetic.

every honorable soldier who's fought for their country
Yes every "honorable" solder who fights for their country by stampeding into developing nations and over innocent people who are no threat to him or his country. Yeah, real honorable.

No Kraken, don't blank my request. I demand of you to show where I said "animals never kill". I believe I said they never have had a world war. This is true. And I'm quite sure that an animal can't do any more gruesome than chopping someone up while alive.

And this is why Utopian ideals will never succeed, anywhere, ever.

Also, why we need the death penalty, I personally don't like sharing an atmosphere with such people.

I apologize, but I misinterpreted your original post. I thought you were suggesting that humans are the most barbaric and violent animal. I was just saying that many creatures are far more brutal than humans.

And yeah, many creatures do lots of things that are more gruesome than chopping up a living person. Such as eating their victims alive, strategically dismembering limbs of their victims so they can't escape and then eating them alive, killing your unborn siblings while still inside the womb, and eating some of you own newborn babies. That's just a few examples.
