No, human beings ARE a cancer. A plague if you will. Just as Agent Smith from The Matrix said.
We spread, consume, and multiply; and in the process destroy EVERYTHING! Even ourselves, which is truly pathetic.
All life does this, blame natural selection for selecting individuals. In fact, humans are the only animal which is capable of looking at the greater whole, can conceive of morality, and can go against what our biological programming tells us to do - Most of the time. Humans are neither good nor bad because all of us are capable of both.
I swear these people saying "lol humans urrr bad" just like to sound edgy when they hear themselves talk.
Of course humans are worthless. I think that the sooner we all die out, the better.
Humanity disgusts me in general, and this has only lowered my opinion of humanity. It keeps happening that just when I think my opinion of it cant get worse, I read something like this and it does.
Once we all die out, life will move on, and all those species we killed off will seem to the next intelligent life form to evolve to have vanished as fast as the dinosaurs did. And the evidence of our existence will be gone forever by that point, so no other explanations for them I'm afraid. They are left in the dark about it.
I don't understand this logic. When one absolutely horrible thing happens people act like human race is doomed and that we are all barbaric morons. Why? One person's actions should not be a representation of humanity as a whole. If people didn't care when this type of thing happened, then I would agree with this point of view. But people do care.
Anyways, I was obviously feel sorry for the boy. That's such a cruel thing to do to somebody.

No, they deserve to be given a choice.
Step 1. Super glue their willies inside a steel pipe.
Step 2. Build a massive slab of concrete around mentioned pipe.
Step 3. Put a rather large explosive beside them and give them a VERY blunt knife (we're talking something that can barely cut warm butter).
Step 4. Tell them the explosive will detonate in 60 seconds and explain that they have the choice to either cut off their willies with the knife, or get evaporated along with it.
The levels to which people can sink has no limit.
I don't even have the energy to comment on this happening, because like you said, they happen all the time. And I never get used to it.

But, to be fair, I've never seen a lion rape a baby gazelle, stab it half to death, and then toss it off of a two-story building into a dumpster.
Very true, it seems the more intelligent the organism the higher the chances of being barbaric becomes. Chimps are known to kill others for no reason at all, and also wage "war" on other groups of chimps nearby for turf dominance.
No Kraken, don't blank my request. I demand of you to show where I said "animals never kill". I believe I said they never have had a world war. This is true. And I'm quite sure that an animal can't do any more gruesome than chopping someone up while alive.
I apologize, but I misinterpreted your original post. I thought you were suggesting that humans are the most barbaric and violent animal. I was just saying that many creatures are far more brutal than humans.
And yeah, many creatures do lots of things that are more gruesome than chopping up a living person. Such as eating their victims alive, strategically dismembering limbs of their victims so they can't escape and then eating them alive, killing your unborn siblings while still inside the womb, and eating some of you own newborn babies. That's just a few examples.

Animals rape frequently, and often not even for mating purposes. There's the bull elephants in Africa that, when in musk, would hunt down, kill, and yes, rape male rhinoceroses.
Mentioning how often stabbings occur would be ridiculous, though to satisfy your odd sense of animal morality, the rapes from the previous example were naturally accompanied with goring.
Many species of birds kill their young by pushing them out of the nest, sure that deserves execution? Imagine of a human had done it? "mother throws baby child off 10 story building."
Face it, humans are absolutely the most civilized species on the planet, by a huge margin.
Its a shitty world we live in, you dont need to be a pessimist to know that. Help those you can and protect your family, nothing else is expected of you as a human being save decency.

Bullshit, I bet if you had to witness the very thing mentioned above you would either lose your lunch, pass out, or start crying because of the sadistic nature of it. I don't think anyone should pass judgement or sentance on another if they aren't willing to at elast watch the act themselves.
I'm not saying there aren't people that don't deserve death, I just think if you are going to condem someone you should have to see it being carried out... just so you know what it is you wished for.
Some times I feel bad about hating people. Then I read about the Murder of James Bulger, and feel only one emotion: hate. If I ever meet those two boys, I won't be able to stop myself. Castration and life in prison should be the punishment for a crime like that.

While I feel disgusted at having to quote the bible on this, yeah. An eye for an eye. Not as revenge but simply as balance. If you torture someone you should be tortured. If you kill, you Should be prepared to be killed. I don't really see how a jail sentence would give the offender any insight into what pain he may have caused. It will just give him a self centered state of grief that he is in jail.
But that is simply my opinion and I can see why you have yours.

That, of course, is fact, but, given the fact that humans are animals, we have to take into account that we CAN be more violent and gruesome than other animals. I mean, look at wars, genocide, and all of the other hateful and violent side-products of having greater intelligence than our furry/scaly counterparts. It takes a pack of hyenas to take out one herd animal, it takes one finger on the nuclear button to destroy part of a nation.

I never said I could stomach watching it now did I? No, I simply said that in cases like this he MAY deserve it and that to some people it could give closure. Then again they may be the same people who enjoy watching the Saw films...
Ok if you can't be bothered or are unable to click this link for whatever reason, allow me to expand.
In short a 15 year old boy appears to have been pushed off a multi storey car park.
However having been told the full story allow me to tell you exactly what happened which the paper hasn't printed.
This young lad goes to the school near me, is a quiet kid, keeps his head, down, like many of us here, just got on with it.
He got bullied, called names like "geek" "nerd" etc etc, but found solace in computers, from building them to coding, he loves them.
He got speaking to someone on the internet who is 20 years old.
This 20 year old man said to this boy that he had a computer part the boy had been searching for, so having agreed to meet this man ( i know it's idiotic to meet someone from the internet having never had any contact with them except online but i don't know what was going through this lad's head therefore i won't pass judgment).
Anyway he gets to the car park to meet this bloke, to which the bloke says that the computer part is in the back of his car , so the young lad walks to the back of the car, to find a couple of this blokes mates (hired goons would probably be an appropriate term here), where upon they beat the living shit out of him and dangled him over the edge by his fingers, and then slowly one by one pulled his fingers off the ledge and watched him fall.
the young lad is now having surgery to repair both his legs and his back, doctors are unsure of whether they can save one of his legs or not.
Opinion time
Now, don't get me wrong i think humans have the potential to be dicks but this absolutely
takes the piss, i mean the lad was 15, a complete sociophobe and they took advantage, if it was just a simple beating ( not that this is acceptable either ) then it may not have turned out so bad, but the fact that having basically beaten him unconscious, then proceeded to drop him over a ledge and slowly made him release his grip on the ledge, makes me realize that my town of Ipswich is absolutely going to hell, but what scares me even more is that stuff like this happens every where, from war veterans getting beaten for the sake of maybe a few quid, or a child getting run over and killed only for the driver to speed off ( if you are interested in these stories links are below).
Please share your thoughts on what i can only describe as humans with cancer of the intellect.
Once again I'm beaten to the punch, but you've put it better than I probably could have.
The thing that you have to remember is that while humans are capable of committing acts of great cruelty, they're also capable of acts of great goodness as well. It's just that the former happens more often than the latter.
We're capable of pretty much anything after hundreds of years of evolution and progress and while this tragedy goes to show that there are a lot of sadistic assholes out there, if the entire world was filled to the brim with sadistic assholes, this thread wouldn't exist and we wouldn't be having this discussion. We're flawed, but we know we're flawed.
What I'm basically trying to get across here to the OP is that I get how angry he is over this event. I can't feel the victim's pain, but I can understand how horrible it must be to be in a situation like that. That still doesn't make humanity all-around horrible. It's needlessly pessimistic to feel that way.
So don't declare everyone on Earth sucks, because it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, but try to do as much good as you can. Hating humans- your own species- won't change anything. It'll just make you much less likely to want to accomplish anything to change the state of the world.

... Okay, so why did a bunch of dudes lure some random fifteen year old boy they met on the internet into a carpark, beat him senseless, and then proceed to drop him off a building?
Seriously. It seems kind of odd to me that anyone would go through all that effort just for a bit of random shocking violence. Couldn't they have just picked a random person on the street if that's all they wanted?
Eh. I'd suggest there may be something more to this, but there probably isn't.
Sucks for that kid, though.
Hope he gets better and so on.
