I'm just gonna assume I'm free of this computer disease. I haven't experienced any problems and really there wasn't any sites that I could possibly think to get a virus on.

Likewise, I think I'm safe as well. My computer is running fine and like Toastiest said, I really don't go to any sites I could have gotten a virus from.

Also, I am apparently "clean" according to that site at least, aand I am a savvy enough browser and internetter that I don't need antivirus.

Considering I.E. is still the #1 used web browser, it's not as weird of a thing to say as you two are making it out to be.

You should probably still get an anti-virus software. There's Microsoft Security Essentials that you can get for free. It's not McAfee or Kaspersky, but it's better than nothing.

Besides remember the saying, "It's better to have something and not need it, then not have something and need it."

It's not that I think that AV programs are beneath me or anything, its just that they are quite jittery and take up (in my point of view) unnecessary HDD space.

-I still have Defender and Essentials, but I turn them off at startup, I might keep them on for slightly longer during July.

You can check manually by searching fbi.gov for dnschanger. The first result is a pdf with a list of rogue DNS servers. Compare your DNS servers (using ipconfig /all in a command prompt if you run Windows) to that list to see if you need to worry.

Mine seem to be just fine.

Wow, that's sort-a kind-a horrifying. On the PC mag. article they said it was primarily Win/Mac PCs that were infect. I'm not sure if a Linux machine saved me or not, but thanking Linus Torvald anyhow.

Hilarious, I wonder how they distributed? The article seems to imply the average internet user and below, i.e....well, IE users. The kind that open all the things and click all the popups.
I'd be surprised if many here were infected, unless they were very clever with distributing it.
