....You're...you're kidding right? I'm sorry, but this is just increadibly stupid. The only (and I mean only) Similarity between this RP and your idea is that the players play as Detectives. There were RPs before that that had the same idea.

The Down Under Rp that me and Sky14kemea Gm'ed was about Paranormal Detectives. SeargemtToughie's Death Note RP was about a series of Detectives trying to find a killer author (Ring any bells).

You don't own the idea about Detectives and you shouldn't be jumping down throats just because of ONE similarity.

Yaaaa, I don't think he's gonna do that for the reasons mentioned above. Please don't tell him to change it because your RP (Set in a Sci-Fi era about a Killer Author who writes a Horror Story. Yep, so similar to an 1800's mystery about Jack the Ripper coming by and murdering prostitutes for some deranged reason.) has one thing that he has. Halo didn't steal guns from Doom after all.

The reason that I'm pissed is that it kind of stole my format of an rp, using optional mysteries to figure out the bigger mystery, also I'm kind of paranoid because I gave away my idea for an rp on a bad day, and can't trick myself into thinking that someone won't use my idea. I'm that type of person that gets worried when things don't go his way, even if it isn't important, I just have a feeling that people aren't going to join my rp because they would think that I stole Quad's idea. I know it makes almost no sense, but I think people would say I'm not original. My personality is in bad shape, and if someone says something else about me like I cheat or something, everyone would hate me!

He didn't steal your format, there are only so many things one can do with an RP. If anything, his is much more detailed and well laid out than any of yours. No one wants to use your idea, it's just that there is only limited potential for RP's. Your stuff isn't original or mind-blowing, it's mostly been done before, and most likely better.

not everything is about originality, it's all about the execution. Your RP can be as original as it wants, but your writing skills and ability to GM will keep it from becoming good. Brush up on your English and grammar, then read all the guides on RPing that are in this section of the forums, and then maybe you will make an RP worth joining.

Anyway I would quite like to join this. I will post a sheet tomorrow some time.

Also, I highly doubt Quad, the most friendly fellow here, would do something as nefarious as that. You are being paranoid. Not to mention no one is going to care if two threads happen to look alike, it happens far more often than you would think unless the work is entirely, one hundred percent original, which is a rarity.

Then maybe you should...I don't know? Apologize? You did just accuse him of Plagerism when your idea is EXTREMELY far from his. Seriously dude, there is more then one GM one this site and the idea of optional side-quests have been done before as well. Don't go around accusing theft when your idea isn't that original on it's own.

Name: Oliver Davis. Responds to both Oliver and David.

Age: 29

Gender: M

Appearance: A tall man ('bout 5'11) with a large frame. He has a thick black beard with Brown eyes and black hair. Needless to say, he can be a rather intimidating man.

Oliver usually wears a Grey vest with a brown Coat meant to help him during his hunting trips (See Bio) along with a hat he occasionally wears during bad weather.

Personality: A jolly and happy man, Oliver is known for his hearty laugh at the local pub along with his burly fists. Oliver has also been known to fight at the drop of a hat, especially when insults regarding his family. He is a trustworthy man who makes use of the men and woman around him and is well known for his successfully lead hunts in the woods.

Equipment: He keeps a combat pistol under his jacket. He also owns several rifles and knives though he very rarely takes them out for anything other then hunting purposes. Though due to the circumstances, he has also been keeping a Bowie knife with him for added protection.

Experience: Oliver has 5 years and several succesful hunts under his name, he is a keen tracker and a deadly shot, his fighting has also caused him to become an avid bar brawler which makes him an intimidating force for those who will not cooperate.

Bio: Born in the woods of a small town outside of Englefield to a popular hunter and a simple house-wife, Oliver was quickly raised in the art of the hunt. He was taught to maintain his weapons, to look for small signs of an animal passing by and how to determine the size and direction the animal was moving in. By 15, he led his first successful hunt for a large pack of wolves that were feasting on the local sheep.

When he was only 22, Oliver's father was attacked and killed by a bear. From that point on, Oliver became the town's go to hunter.

Shortly after his 29th Birthday, Oliver recieved an invitation to visit London from his cousin. He accepted the offer just to see how city folk live, but decided to extend his stay when he learned the greatest pray of all wasn't prowling the forest floor, but the city alleys.

personality: a nice and very educated man. He isn't too strong so he usually backs out of athletic or dangerous activities (such as gun fights, chasing criminals without a plan to capture them in a quick and easy fashion, and climbing through windows or over fences). He also isn't very talkative, but can sure make you crack a smile in just a few seconds if he wanted to.

experience: Bear's parents were killed in a crossfire of a fight between his house maid and driver. He ran away from home to his friends house, where he lived until he was 25 (10 years) and was accepted as a detective from his school of investigation. After that he was very successful as a criminal investigator and had a good life. When he heard of Ripper, he bought himself a revolver, and immediately went to London in search of a huge cash reward, and a terrifying killer.

bio: Due to the fact that his parents were killed when he was 15, he had to live with his weird friend "David" and his creepy mother. Unfortunately David's mum was a strict lady and she made him do all of the chores that here son did. He was famous for his random bursts of genius that usually lead to solving a case at the time that it looks hopelessly confusing and is the best partner to work with if you had to travel around the world.

Equipment: Revolver (he uses it in self defense.)
