I only cared about getting up to 5,000 posts when I realized I was eligable for the Neo Badge. Now... I have very little to strive for in terms of post counts. My next objective is to gain actual Site Fame and stop hovering in the background.
I ruined my chances for a Neo badge... or any other sort of matrix badge in my early noob days, when I made a thread specifically for flaming...PedroSteckecilo said:I only cared about getting up to 5,000 posts when I realized I was eligable for the Neo Badge. Don't worry about site fame. I always recognise your name as you were the first person to comment on any of my posts (as it happens it was my first, too). Bet you didn't know that.PedroSteckecilo said:I only cared about getting up to 5,000 posts when I realized I was eligable for the Neo Badge. Now... Dear lord, I hope not...bodyklok said:I don't think we should get ourselves in to a 'post count=e-penis' mentality.
Me too! Except I didn't create a thread I just bumrushed someone's and flamed the hell out of them. They kind of deserved it but it cost me my Matrix Badges which I didn't even realize till latter.Simalacrum said:I ruined my chances for a Neo badge... or any other sort of matrix badge in my early noob days, when I made a thread specifically for flaming...PedroSteckecilo said:I only cared about getting up to 5,000 posts when I realized I was eligable for the Neo Badge. Fixed. That, and nobody even noticed.Mrsnugglesworth said:I was excited when I got Gonzo but it wore off after the first 10 or so seconds.
No, that's how you get Forum Vagabond.handofpwn said:I dont really care about going gonzo. I like to make sure I can add to a discussion before I make a post and that really limits my post count. But it does ensure that I wont look like a huge jackass for not adding to a discussion or anything.
Edit: You have to post in ten different forum areas to get the regular badge, like the offtopic area, the roleplay are and game discussion. You might even have to go to the warcry forums, but you should be careful of that, they dont really like us. Im fairly certain thats how you get the regular badge, I dont have it because I mod thought I was spamming warcry for it. I wasnt, but it looked like it.
If the person is intelligent, i.e. our good friend Mike in question, then they'll be good posts all round. I can confirm that by seeing him in most threads I post in. Also, you're impressed by 18 posts daily? You obviously don't spend much time with us.Catchphrase said:Now, I know I haven't read all of your posts. I couldn't possibly do that.
However, you've been with us since january, and you have 3350 posts right this minute.
7 months for 3350 posts???
How can you mentain a good "quality" for the posts, when you post so frequently?
With 30 days on average a month, let's do the math:
3350:7 = 478,57 - Let's round it up to 479.
479:30 = 15,9666...
You've posted on average about 16 posts a day. Steadily for 7 months.
Perhaps you've had a months absence, but that would have required you to post 18 posts daily for the other 6 months. Each and every day.
What the fuck?
I sure hope you live up to your own "quality control".
Somebody loves their maths. Oh, and: "Omg lol u havnt been here 4 long, 1 post in 1 hour is not much lol"?Catchphrase said:I'm not impressed by 18 posts in a day, what does make an impression on me, rather than impress me, is 18 posts a day EVERY SINGLE DAY for 6 months.Vanguard_Ex said:If the person is intelligent, i.e. our good friend Mike in question, then they'll be good posts all round. Let's ASSUME that on average, the guy sleeps 8 hours every night, less in the weekdays but more in the weekends. Now we figure out that 18/16 equals 1,125 post every hour.
"Omg lol u havnt been here 4 long, 1 post in 1 hour is not much lol"
Obviously it isn't and I've written plenty more than that just today.
But what does make an impression, is that it's 1,125 post every 6 months. NO BREAKS, NO MISSES. It's a post every fucking wake hour of every single fucking day, for 6 months.
That bothers the fuck out of me.
If you're not a spammer, or to some degree not-as-interested in the quality of your post, you can't keep writing so many posts.
