Hypothetically, could you kill an innocent to save a loved one?

Yes, I could. I don't understand why someone would not.
Because it means you have to kill someone >_>
What if it's a 5 year old kid?
Another thing I don't understand is why it matters if it's a kid. If I can save an important person by killing this kiddo, I don't see the problem. Either the kiddo is the threat, or he just came to the wrong place at the wrong time.
So you would without another thought snap an innocent child's neck to save someone else?
I am sorry, but yes I would as long as it saves this person that is important to me. It is unfortunate and horrible, but I don't see the problem in it.

It depends what is gained and lost in the situation. By psychologically and morally I would have no objection to doing so.

Question... do I get punished for killing the innocent person? If not... maybe... just to let loose some frustration that I've built up towards mankind over the past 20 years of my life (going on 21 soon). If so... then maybe... depends on a lot of other mitigating factors... I like that word... mitigating.

Jesus Christ...um...when I opened this thread I didn't see the 'innocent' part.

I don't think I could, no.

To be honest, it depends on the innocent, and who it was I'd had to save.

But mmh, I'll just say no. Jeeez><.

Yes I would, no questions asked.. I'm generally a loyal person and I don't want my friends/family to die, I would kill someone that I don't know without a second thought and I probably wouldn't regret it . .much

Questions like these are, quite frankly, irrelevant. What you think you would do and what you would actually do are two different things, especially since any situation that would call for you to make a decision like that would be high stress. And there's a vast difference in emotions between thinking out a scenario like this..and actually being one and being able to look into a person's eyes when you're making the decision

I don't care for selfish or unethical.
I would kill the whole planet if it would bring back my loved ones.

I would not hesitate a second. There is simply nothing that would keep me from having them in my life.

Does this make me evil?
I don't think it makes you evil, but personally I think it makes your priorities all wrong. It's actually the opposite of evil that you love so much you'd do evil for that love, aaah confusing paradox.

Well, I don't know. Depending on the situation, and who the person is, mostly.

There could also be another alternative here, correct? You could fend the person off in an attempt to stop him from killing the person, not necessarily killing them. But if it were such that you had a gun and the other innocent person had a gun, I'd do it. Maybe with a little hesitation, but, I would do it. If it involved stabbing, or torturing the person, I don't know. If it came down to a fist fight, I'd probably find a way to knock the person out, but try to leave them both alive, unless the person is trying to kill me as well as my loved one.

I've seen that part of the trial for Heavy Rain, and wow... if I had to go through that, I would do it without a doubt. Especially if that guy is shooting at me. It's risking my own life for my own family, I would definitely do it.

Yes i could.

In the aforementioned game I killed the man with barely a second of hesitation.
Ethan said it all for me:
"I'm a father too."

Not if I would be caught doing it, my preservation above theres.

However, if I wouldn't get caught, fuck it, hand me a knife. Why the hell not, I don't know this person nor do I know there family, nobody will ever know. No reason not to go to town in said innocents face with a bowie knife

Yes and with ease. People I Know > People I Don't, sucks to be the dude/chick i'm killing, but oh well. I'd kill a billion innocents to save one person I care for.
