Ubisoft games always get pirated to shit or torn a new one by the pc community because of DRM. Dont blame them for giving the PC a big middle finger.
Ya I kind of agree. It sucks because there are plenty of PC gamers out there who aren't like this and do deserve the game but a lot of them really did bring it on themselves...

I'm not sure if I'm even that interested. I own a 360 so I can get it but I'm not sure if I want it. I'll wait to see what kind of reception it gets.

**** alert, everyone! We have a **** in the vicinity!
Thank you so much!

OT: hmmm, I WAS looking forward to getting this for the 360, but since I'll be playing about 600-1000 hours on skyrim alone. (Not to mention League of Legends, Bloodline champions and any other games I could get much more use out of)

I really couldn't give a rats ass about this anymore. good job Ubisoft, you just alienated a hell of a lot of people from buying future products as well as this one.

Fuckin prick..

<spoiler=For the eyes of Stanislas Mettra and Ubisoft only>

EPIC games pulled the same shit, when their golden boy gears of war failed on the PC.
Ah yes, the old 'wait until everyone with even the remotest interest in the games has had 6 or more months to buy it for console(s) before even announcing a PC version' method of manufacturing poor PC sales that you can blame on pirates.

Ubi don't quite use that method... but they have proven themselves to be masters of the random and never explained pushback on PC version release dates for multiplatform titles.

I don't pirate any game I can find a hard copy of, but sounds like I'll have to start with attitudes like this.
You probably should not have said that...

Let's not sell food to the people of X-ville! There are a lot of burglars in the town, so we should just let the whole populace starve.
This is completely different.
Everyone is going to buy the food.
Very few people are going to buy this game.
I'm not going to buy it for my 360 because it looks uninteresting. I don't understand the huge problem, companies have been making console exclusives for some time. This isn't new.

It was just a coarse analogy, don't take it too seriously.
And the problem is that when they make exclusives for just 1 console, they usually have an agreement or whatnot with the manufacturer. Maybe just personal preference, I can understand that. Whereas here, they aren't releasing for PC because they believe most if not all PC gamers are pirates.

Just call everyone a liar and thief, that would be the mature thing yes :')
I wonder what goes on in the board room at ubisoft. "Yeah, even though other companies are making money of the PC, let's pretend that piracy has somehow grown to be such a problem we can not sell our game and make any money."
"yeah good plan, let's throw away potential customers!"

The stupidity is baffling, ubisoft deserves a bankruptcy anyway with all the DRM crap and their "our customer is our enemy unless proven otherwise" viewpoint.

This same group are the ones constantly flaming about consoles, bitching about anything in a game that is slightly to their dislike. Moaning about protection on pc games (here's another tip, its their product they can protect it how ever they like, buy something else if you don't want it, simple as), complaing their computer or software is not compatible, an moaning that PC's are not the centre of the gaming world any more, believe it or not most of us have other things to do in our lives an convenience is a premium when we get space for a little down time, over having to have the absolute best graphics an alike.

so yer to that group of PC gamers, stop bitching about everything an everything, get a reality check once in a while, an maybe developers will be more inclined to make forays into pc gaming, ur ruining it for others and pissing the rest of the world off
From all bitchy PC "elitists" to you: Deal with it. I've paid for hardware, just as any console gamer. I've paid the same $60 for a title, just as any console gamer. Is is really so much to ask that the quality of my gaming experience be on par with a console gamer? Bugs which are never fixed, retrictive DRM, console specific UI, disorienting camera angles and FOVs unoptimized for a PC monitor are just some of the problems which frequently hinder PC ports. We are consumers, we give these people our hard earned money, why shouldn't we ***** if a product is insufficient? Stop giving us second rate ports, then most of the bitching stops. If console gamers are content to stay quiet when these companies screw them over, that is their choice.

I agree that if the larger comapnies are finding that the PC market is no longer commericially viable, then they should pack up and make room for other enterprises. If Ubisoft had politely stated they are no longer going to produce PC games, most people would not have cared that much. Instead they give us some of the worst DRM on the market and insinuate that we are all thieves..why shouldn't they be called out on it? New companies means new jobs and new ideas, I am tired of these fatcats (most of whom made their success on the PC) stringing us along with shitty afterthought products.

Oh seriously, get the fuck over yourselves.

He didn't say all PC users are pirates. He didn't even say most PC users are pirates. He said that piracy was enough of a force that it will affect sales, which is really important when projected sales for a PC port are not worth the resources needed to do so.

He just said he doesn't forsee enough sales to justify the effort.

People need to spend 10 less pages blowing the less important point out of proportion, and focus on what the main issue is; there won't be enough buyers, according to their projections, to justify it.

Fuck their projections, nobody is debating that, business is business. The man made farily hostile public statement towards PC gamers, some negative reaction is justified.

Their cuntiness alone has ensured more people will pirate their games out of spite, and I hope they go bankrupt

We're supposed to have sympathy for them too, even though by their own arguments they deserve to die off. Piracy is killing the PC market, but the response to any legitimate complaint is to stop buying PC games if we don?t like it. If we act rationally and refuse to throw the baby out with the bathwater and download a game, we're killing them. What would they rather have us do? ?Talk with our wallets? and not play the games at all, and certainly don?t buy them. Which would also kill the industry, but that?s somehow the more moral solution. Either way the industry is basically daring us to kill it.

Most people are talking with their wallets, which is why the market is shrinking. And what message does the industry take from that? That they should do something different? Nope. The message is that they should simply move to consoles due to a shrinking market they surely can?t be responsible for. So even when we do follow the "moral" way, nothing changes. So the decision, from our view, is between "No Games, Dead Industry" and "Pirate Games, Dead Industry".

In other words, if the industry isn?t going to get the message no matter what we do and is going to die either way. Should I feel sorry for Ken Levine not getting paid for a good game? Nope. The industry doesn?t care about screwing us over in the name of unproven piracy damages, so I don?t see why we should care if a few decent developers get crushed in the name of taking down an industry that could not possibly care less about doing proper business with us.

Ubisoft has a valid point. Even setups like Steam aren't even enough to keep douchebags from illegally downloading games. The only real option developers have is to take away the pirate's tool - the PC itself.

He doesn't have to be so dickish about it though.

Still, the PC Gaming Master Race haven't been much to look at lately anyways, not since word got out that many of them have been illegally harvesting organs in seedy Tijuana p2p share programs to survive. You guys are like the Vidiians.

So piracy is to blame ? I'll take that comment seriously when a company that isn't known for being insufferable pricks doesn't release a game because of piracy.
