I think of it this way.

My organs are MINE. I was brought up to believe against this sort of crap as I perfer to be buried INTACT.

There is nothing hypocritical to it. So to this that think otherwise can suck it.
I am guessing you wont accept blood transfusion or donor organs if you needed. Othervise that would be hypocritical.
Correct....I will not accept blood or organs either.

No, you're not evil. Evil doesn't exist. At least you care about people; just not enough to overcome some ridiculous and illogical urge to keep your body whole after death. So clearly you don't care about them much after all.

Personally I wouldn't want to be a donor because I might accidentally save the life of someone I don't like. I don't care about what happens to my body though. They could chop it up and use it as dog food for all I care. Hell, they could ignore my wishes and take my organs anyway. I wouldn't care. I'd be dead.
No offense but that is possibly the most selfish reason against donation I have read on this thread today. I have no problem with people who are against having their body cut up after death for whatever reason, but is there really that many people that you hate enough that you wouldn't want to save their life? Even though you don't care about what's done with your body? Also, realistically the chances of you knowing the recipient in life at-all are really slim.
No, I'm almost positive I wouldn't know the person. I'm also fairly certain I wouldn't like them if I did. It's a risk I'm willing to take. Anyway, why should it make a difference whether I withhold my organs out of spite, or if I just have some absurd desire to keep my body whole after I've hit the bucket. The outcome is the same: someone who potentially needs a transplant won't get one. I guess I'm just a horrible person, unlike the people who want their corpse to be whole and undamaged as the flesh rots away; they're being perfectly reasonable human beings.

Also: Is it possible to put terms up when you sign for donor? For example if I'd just want to give a kidney?

(Semi-changed my mind so far :))
My guess is that there is. I don't know as I am not from the Netherlands but it is at least possible in Sweden.

Thanks to this thread I rememberd that I wasn't a donor myself and did a quick web search of how one would become one here and it was remarkably simple, just log in to their website with an e-leg(electronic identification) and check a box and then your done.

After another quick web search it seems like there is a similar webpage in the Netherlands. link
You can always try to register and if there isn't an alternative for specific parts or if you just changed your mind you can always cancel.

If you want to get an organ, you should be willing to provide one. As the first reply said, otherwise you're being hypocritical.
"Bad" is probably too strong a word but I'd definitely advise you to rethink your position. It's not as if you need your organs after youre dead, is it?
And more importantly, wouldn't you have to also feel desecrated when the doctors cut you open to take out your old organ and put in the new one if you were to receive a donor organ?

I'm an avid believer in "You get what you give"

If I need help, I wouldn't expect an organ to be given to me, as I have not signed an organ donor card, but if they wish and do give me an organ then I'd be fine with it, I just don't really expect it.

I suppose if ever someone's organ does save me I'll sign the card
What do you care if someones taking your organs, you'll be dead?
I don't know to be honest, I've asked myself that a few times, and each time I come up thinking it would feel like a certain desecration of my body. I'd like to leave the world the same way I entered it, and to be hoenst, I'd prefer to die of an organ failure than to have someone's organs used to keep me alive.
You want to die as a baby? And coming out of your mums vagina?

I give blood, so I'm an organ donor - and you can be one as well with having anyone "cut you up".

Booya!

You're welcome.
Hate to state the obvious here, but blood isn't an organ, it's a fluid. By definition you're a blood donor. Not an organ donor.

Blood is an organ according to the hospital I donate blood every 4 months.
Also:
The circulatory system circulates blood throughout the body and in doing so transports gases, nutrients, and wastes to and from tissues. Organs of the circulatory system include the heart, blood vessels, and blood.
Organs and Organ Systems [http://science.jrank.org/pages/4908/Organs-Organ-Systems.html]
Interesting, I just googled it and found sites that said both that it was and that it wasn't. I also checked some uni textbooks I have lying around and neither said that it definitively was, so I guess while I can see how it might be termed an organ, I'm not going to bother with that definition. That's just my opinion though, and I'm not a biologist. Either way, you learn something new every day, sorry for my condescension :)

It's still good that you're donating blood, but you have to admit, there's a vast difference between being what is commonly termed an organ donor and being a blood donor. I'm signed up to be an organ donor, and I did donate blood for a while, until something in my blood caused a false positive on one of the tests and they told me not to bother donating for two years. It pissed me off somewhat, because as far as I can tell, a false positive means there's actually nothing wrong with my blood, and should be perfectly safe to donate. I mean if they're as desperate for blood as they say, shouldn't they have been encouraging me to go and donate anyway? Just seems a bit stupid to me.

you are a bit hypocritical but if you want to save somebody,s live you can:
-donate blood
-donate a part of your liver (your liver is one of the few organs that can grow back)
-donate a lung or kidney (you can live on one)
