Posted a reference on Facebook as my status a while back, nobody understood it and I had to actually explain it. I'm dreading people asking me to explain the reasoning behind a T-shirt for the same thing I referenced that I hope to be getting soon...

Anyway, let's see if any of you recognise it. The reference is, as quoted from my Facebook statud a few weeks back:

Always be prepared. You never know when your neighbour is going to turn out to be a cute crazy psychotic OCD girl who enjoys vacuuming at four in the morning...
doesn't happen to be a Questionable Content quote does it? I have the strange ability to use quotes from QC in real life. I am just that awesome.

Yeah, it happens to me a lot. But from movies that I would assume people have seen, like Rocky Horror Picture Show and Robin Hood; Men in Tights. Brilliant movies that people should see! And I quote Terry Pratchett a lot too.

Honestly, I live for obscure quotes. I enjoy it when people don't understand what I say. Most unorthodox, to be sure, but oh well. I am a child among children all trying to find our way, so confusion is to be expected.

A lot of the time I will orchestrate events or conversations so that I may use quotes in the funniest way possible. I'll also try and use the accent of the quoter. My favourite person to quote is Alec Mcguinness's Obi Wan.

But posting random quotes on facebook is funny too. The other day I posted "If I knew I was going to meet the president I would have worn a tie, look at me, I look like a schlemiel" I was amazed no-one remembered it.

Using quotes in comparable situations is also my speciality. Like when I quote Tropic Thunder when paintballing, it's so damn funny.

Yep. I'm a terrible one for the constant use of random quotes and references. On the flipside I'm also very good with picking them up. One of my cousins likes teasing another cousin's finance about his name - it's just Gsry, but Ben, (the first cousin,) always says it in a strong northern english accent in a "worried questioning" tone.

"Gary? Gary?"

(It's from "Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels" as you probably don't 'get it' in it's written form.)

Apparently no-one had picked up on it before I did.

Not quite a QC quote, per se, but definitely a QC reference. Well done :)

And as to your Pratchett quote, Thief of Time referring to Jeremy Clockson, amirite?

I quote movies all the time and no one gets the reference(s)

:'(

It's the only way to be sure.
