Don't expect too much. Maybe you are young (under 21), or maybe you are really passionate, but if you lose your shit over things that are hyped to the max that turn out to be a dull disappointment, then that will lead to hidden stress and shit.
Enjoy things, of course. But if you get too hyped and it stresses you out with disappointment in the end, then you gotta walk away.

Comparing apples and bloody oranges here. Edgehog and whatever that take on Looney Tunes was were misguided attempts to make cutesy, colorful, cartoony characters more "radical" in order to pander to "kids nowadays"(tm). It felt stupid. Really, Alan Moore is probably the single living writer I most admire, both professionally and personally... but I can't agree with him on that point, particularly based on his reasoning. The whole "Batman shouldn't be dark" thing smacks to me simply of nostalgia on his part, because the wacky, zany Batman he claims was so much better just happens to be the one from when he was a kid reading Batman comics.
It's entirely his prerogative not to like his own work, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a solid, very well-constructed story, and as I believe I've said before, I think if one was to replace Batman and the Joker with any stand-in ripoffs, it'd work just as well.

I'm actually ahead of the curve in that I've NEVER liked The Killing Joke. I started reading comics literally in the middle of the Knightfall arc (The One With Bane Breaking the Bat), so it isn't like I hate a dark Batman. But when I went back and read TKJ, I just didn't like how mean-spirited and rapey the original comic was. And that's coming from a massive fan of Berserk!
As far as Batman vs Superman is concerned, I actually like it. Unlike most people, I've seen it three times now. Once in theaters and twice for The Ultimate Edition. I actually posit that with the R-rated cut, the movie goes from trash to actually a decent Batman and Superman movie. Is it better than/ high art like The Dark Knight trilogy? Nope! But as a Superman movie where Batman IS the villain (something the theatrical cut didn't get across- you're NOT rooting for Batman, he's an anti-villain in this movie who's crossed the line and started murdering), it's way above the grain in being a great comic book movie starring Batman and Superman. It also has the best Batman fight on film, and in the Ultimate Cut it's EXTREMELY brutal. The shot of Batman punching the guy on the ground repeatedly and him crying out in audible pain each time with blood flying up (something not in the theatrical cut- the guy on the ground is mute and there is no blood). So awesome
Now Suicide Squad? THAT sucked.
As far as the other things, I'm not a big Warcraft or Warhammer fellow, in that I'm not a consumer of them in any shape or way (I saw the movie and thought it was a movie...). But with Samurai Jack, that actually cannot be criticized for going darker. For one thing, the cartoon while hamstrung as a childs show, WAS dark to begin with. Secondly, for a show starring a samurai and a eldritch demon, it was very bland. So I AM hoping the new show plays this up and takes off the kiddie gloves.

Here's how I look at it. To me, being a fan of the show makes you...a fan of the show. A Brony would be someone who is a bit of a step beyond being just a fan of the show. For example, someone who talks about the show at random, or draws fanart of the show, or reviews the show episode by episode.Silentpony said:
