Counter-Strike, which was an impulse buy.
I gamed when I was younger, but that was just pokemon coupled with Mario Kart and Sonic.
These days, I play a much wider variety of games. =D

Super Mario Land for GameBoy (I had the black one with pink lettering (I was ashamed of the lettering being pink)). The end got rather silly as you drove vehicles for the last 2 stages, but an easy play through within 2 hours if you rock it. Anyone else notice how rapidly games of old can be blown through? Jill of the Jungle comes in a close second since shortly after the GameBoy I got ye olde windows 3.1. I just played through that one a few days ago. Took 10 min at most.

A Link to the Past

That was the first game I truly lost my life to, and loved every minute.
I still havent completed that game!! I had it when I was a kid and someone stole it so I didnt get to finish it then a few years ago I bought another snes and copy of LTTP I got all the way to the dark world and then the game wiped itself.... (T_T)

But unfinished or not Its the first game I played that really drew me in!!

GAMER FOR LIFE YO!

Pokemon, and Star Fox Adventures of the Gamecube. Hell, back then General Scales was badass incarnate. Now.. well, not so much.

I don't blame videogames. I blame being bullied/ignored by everyone during most of my school life for my below average social skills.

Command & Conquer didn't help either.

thnx for the thread mate.... it's all coming back.......snif

I blame no game. I blame myself for having burned up enough of my real-life interests to allow myself to be sucked in by a game and have it dominate my life. Thankfully, that period of my life only occured for around 6 months and it did not seriously ruin my grades at a pivotal moment (senior year of HS).

The game addiction is, ultimately, something that fills a missing void in one's life. Take care of those voids and a "game addiction" problem should not be very serious.

Sonic the hedgehog. It was the first video game I ever played and it was good.
I wasn't very good at it back then but as soon as that game and that sega megadrive entered this house I was doomed...

Pokemon Blue. Actually, I can blame Pokemon for a lot of the things I like, directly or indirectly.
Yep, that.
But I didn't become antisocial before I got the lovable TF2, because when I played Pokemon Red, everyone else played too, and we hung out behind the school in recesses, playing Pokemon games and trading Pokemon. Aah, good times.

Same. I started out playing Pokemon, Yoshi's Island, and Spyro. That progressed to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts and that lead my current preposterous game collection and lack of a social life.

The Legend of Zelda ... the original. My dad bought me an NES, "Breakthrough" and "Top Gun," and those were fun. But, I wasn't a gamer. Then I remember talking to him about something new. I had heard about the greatest game that everyone was having a blast with! The Legend of Zelda! So new, and a shiny gold cart! My dad drove me to Fred Meyers, and there it was. I still have that cart. :) It has a lot of memories... even if it's on board memory is suffering from alzheimer's.

It wasn't games that crippled my social life - I'd blame that for my mental condition and the fact that all friends I've had have only used me for laughs and jokes.
After that, you are kind of scarred.

That put aside, I believe I got very entangled in Super Mario on the gameboy. Than Pokémon blue on the gameboy as well.
By than, I was 7-8 years old.

First game I screamed my lungs over however, have to be Super Mario on the gameboy.
Fag fucking hammer throwers...

The Lion King on SNES. Up until I played the "Just Can't wait to be King" level I never realized how ridiculously challenging a video game can be, and I was drawn in from there.
