Except you're not getting different ones. You're getting everything the PC crowd complains about and worse! So how the hell is that any better?

I'll be being both eventually. Seeing as I don't have LIVE the changes to the 360 version won't affect me. I missed out on the first Bad Company but played the demo often. BC 2 looks pretty good.
Same here,
Has there been any changes to the PS3 version? I didnt realise the 360 version had been altered

Oh stop this bullcrap hating. If you don't like it, don't get it, but I'm sick and tired of seeing so many people moaning about Modern warfare because it hasn't got dedicated servers.

OT: I'm going to get both, but since I'm a console player, I'm hardly going to be affected by IW decsion, am I?

I have been a die hard Battlefield nerd since 1942 so BC2 was a given for me. I'm just a little sad that my FPS fingers wont have something to shoot until next year...

Neither of those games interest me, but I can recognize a colossal dick move when I see one, or in the case of MW2, 3.

No matter how many whiney posters try to persuade me otherwise, I will buy MW2.
And this is why companies like Activision and EA will continue to rape us up the ass. Thank you HappyTreeFriend for your contribution to gamer butt rape.
Aww, how cute, you think I care:)
What, if you get butt raped?

Well, okay, sorry, it's your decision.

I'm not going get either of them.

I'll probably get both. Despite all the stupid things Infinity Ward have done to MW2, it still looks like an awesome game.

I much prefer playing on the PS3. Things come out when they're supposed to, and things work consistently. Much more comfortable running shoes.

You have a flaw in your logic. How can you bring African children and being homeless to video games? That's like comparing breathing to extreme tennis.

The point was, you don't try to "make things fair" by making conditions worse for everyone. Saying "it's ok to remove features from the PC to make it FAIR to console users" is like saying "it's ok to take away things you have that poor kids don't to make it fair for them!".

It's the wrong way to go about it. The point is to make it good for everyone, not shitty for everyone.

-No dedicated servers- Just like on consoles, and we've done just fine with them for years.
-Matchmaking system used to play with similarly ranked players- How is this a bad thing, at all? Paying with players of the same skill level as you is a GOOD thing, at least you wont just get raped match after match.
-Competitive play is dead- How is it? CoD4 had one of the biggest competitive 'scenes' on the xbox 360, so no, it really isn't dead.
-MW2 mods would not be possible (not directly stated/confirmed)- Good, I'd rather not spend hours trawling through 'Super mario' maps just to get to a decent level.
-Full integration into Steam-I dont like steam that much especial mine got hacked 2 times already[/b]- Steam is a VERY good distribution service, so I dont see why you're complaining.
- 9v9 only- You'd rather had a 64 player match where you die every 2 seconds?

I really dont see peoples problems with MW2. Its an amazing game, and well worty the price for the single player alone, let alone the multiplayer. People need to stop talking all this shit about a game they haven't even played yet... Dont let it become the new popular thing to hate.
Just to clarify, I've played through the campaign at a friends who 'acquired' the game early.

1.Dedicated servers avoid the lagfest which is P2P, or Suck2Suck. They create community and spawn clans without them you have nothing. When I log on cod4 I look for a server I know and like, a server with rules and gametype I enjoy, rules which can be enforced by admins at anytime, no longer, now were getting a system similar or almost idential to xbox live, which is pretty fail, no longer will you be able to boot annyoing spammers or glitchers.......

2.I never thought a matchmaking system was needed, I wonder why it can't be implemented with dedicated servers....

3.Competetive play will be dead or extremely limited to regions, lagfests and latancy issues again taking affect.

4.Mods again help the competetive community, pro mod for Cod4 was a huge hit with almost every league using it, the modding community for any game is a big plus, they spawn ideas some of which have been used by IW, they make the game funner.

5.I like steam, no quarrels there, VAC is alot better than Punkbuster.

6.Theres something in between 64 and 18 players bro. 32 always felt right. Although 9 is probably the only thing p2p could support.

Just becouse it works on console doesn't mean it will work on PC.

The single player will be amazing and so will the co-op. MP on the PC however will be a let down.

Again, no it won't. Players on the 360 have been playing competitively on a P2P network for over 2 years now. As long as you aren't playing someone who is literally on the opposite end of the planet, it isn't even noticeable. Now if you're playing from the US East Coast against someone in Japan, yes, the lag sucks. The solution? Don't play clan matches against that guy.

First of all, pirated campaign doesn't mean the multiplayer will be good and second. 9v9 is GOOD? I would accept 24-player, but 18? what the hell...
I've played the MP too :)
9v9 is great online, you die enough with 10 players on a map, 32 would just be stupid.

I never took a good look at Battlefield games simply because... I didn't. No reason, I was just "busy" with other warfare shooters.
Wow. You're in for a treat then, all the BF games are amazingly cool. Granted, that's because they're pretty much all the same game, but then that could also be equally said of the COD series... anyway BF kicks more ass than you could possibly believe, mainly because the gameplay is less about amazing FPS skills and more about using your brain and working as a team. And these games are designed fromt he ground up as multiplayer experiences.

People need to remember that many people who buy MW2 don't even care about the whole multiplayer side because they simply won't be using it. A lot of people just play those games single-player, and if you ask me that's their strength, I never really thought the multiplayer on ANY COD game was much more than a hastily-rushed afterthought. Having said that I won't be buying it and especially not for the ludicrous price that it's retailing for on Steam.

I had another thought too.... no dedicated servers means no clans. How awesome, I hate clans. Full of noob-bashing snobs who think that just because they all have the same few bits of ASCII in front of their name they're better than everyone else. Clan members often break their own rules on their own servers when playing with non-clan members and generally act like the rest of gaming owes them something. Down with these fraternity-esque institutions!
