Today, at lunch, i was talking with my 3 friends as usual about video games, the conversation shifted towards music and than that one kid, that one annoying kid who thinks he 's cool, said it.
He said a phrase so sadistically horrible, so incredibly stupid that the sheer amount of noob coming out of his mouth was previously unknown to man and was afraid to have caused a rift in the fabric of space-time.
He tried to be clever, and as always, when people like that try to be clever, it sounds like a pathetic attempt to fit in (which it is). Sure the game he commented on is good enough, but i was afraid when it was made. The VERY reason i was afraid was that someone might make this exact comment and rip apart space time.

He said, and I quote "You probably only know about The Beatles from Beatles Rock Band"

I had a similar experience. I was at Target browsing the PS3 games, and through the aisle wall I could hear two 14 or 15 year old boys talking. First one mentioned that he's buying a $200 modded 360 controller. This caught my attention, the next thing he said made me facepalm. He saw the Beatles Rock Band and said, "Man, the Beatles are so overrated, they only have like one good song." This wouldn't have been that bad, but then he glanced at the GH 5 box with the advertisement for GH: Van Halen on it. He said, "Aw man, Guitar Hero: Van Halen! Now that's what I want."

OT: To be honest, there probably ARE some kids who's only knowledge of The Beatles is from the game, like with probably a few bands on any given Guitar Hero/Rock Band game. It's up to them whether or not they enjoy the music, and if they then choose to ferret out more of their discography at a later date.

Wow, some of you guys really need to grow up.

The Beatles are considered a major influence on music because they were the first band to experiment with different styles. If you only know the poppier stuff you are writing them off from a position of ignorance. Sit down and listen to the white album sometime and then try and tell me they're bland.

As musicians, and composers, do they have a monopoly on the best songs of all time? Of course not. Every one of the genres that they experimented with has been done better since. But that's because people have had 40 years since to play with the toys that the Beatles told them were there. Think of all those musicians you idolise and I bet you every penny I own none of them would talk as asininely about the Beatles as some of you people.

Being the first is special. If you don't get that you're just an ass.
