I heard about this film a while ago and managed to trick a friend into watching part of it.

The look on her face when she told me about the baby thing.

I saw it, and it actually made me cry... Me, someone who laughed all the way though The Human Centipede.

So a guy having his mouth stitched to another guy's ass and having a girl stitched onto his ass is less horrible than this? Really now?

Sure it has some of the most disturbing scenes committed to film BUT it is not a bad movie. In fact it is quite a good one, one with good actors, character development and cinematography.

The first hour is just build up, nothing bad happens, you learn about the main character and how he is simply a good man just trying to make some money for the family he loves. When he gets taken and forced against his will to commit the atrocities and how he reacts as he remembers what had happened you sympathise with him and you see he becomes the greatest 'victim' of the film. The ending was pretty heart breaking, although the little addition afterwards was completely unnecessary.

Some scenes are pretty damn disgusting but it could have been filmed much much more distastefully.

I suggest people watch it and decide for themselves, reading a synopsis or just hearing people rant about how it is so disgusting cannot portray the film accurately at all. If you can look past the awful scenes I swear there is a good film in there.

After reading the synopsis I would rather watch 2 girls and 1 cup or the Human Centipede. Yeah I don't watch alot of "shock" films but this is just cross the line. I refuse to watch anything pedo related (even if it was all acted out). Yes I know I can just not watch it at all, I'm talking more if I weas force into watching it.

My god, this is a TRAVESTY.

Netflix doesn't carry this movie! I have to find it somewhere else now.

(Read: You have successfully piqued my interest.)

Human Centipede, Bad Taste, that French film with the rape scene in the subway, all movies that explicitly went after the shock factor and gained success largely from the notoriety from their "offensive" material. If it's so horrible why do people watch them in their thousands? Personally I think it's tired and lazy film making.

I for one...don't think I can watch this film. I am a very liberal, open-minded person when it comes to things such as artistic depictions to relate a message of some sorts...but in the name of everything that is holy, righteous, and good...this just makes me not want to even attempt it.

I still feel bad about posting this, but will just do it to see how the community reacts here. Tell me what you think.

Edit - Yes. I am aware I talked nothing of the plot line. Leave that for further discussion. What's my ultimate point of this post? To simply let others see this, discuss, and say whether or not they feel this ultimately crosses the line that can't be crossed within films.
I've actually seen it. Twice. The first time was on a computer screen that was about to die and it made everything yellow. It was also cut up on Youtube, so I did find it later.

On Surround Sound, on a bigger screen, in a room with the lights shut off, it is the most shocking movie I have seen, and I don't have much to compare it to. With the exception of Hostel and perhaps Requiem For a Dream, it was easily the most unsettling film I have yet to see.

The only difference is between it and RFAD is that RFAD nearly put me on a suicide watch. A Serbian Film is unsettling, disgusting and uncomfortable in parts, but it was fine. I'd watch it with people to see their reactions If I was a sadist, but it's watchable. It's sex scenes/rape scenes ETC are rough, but the movie uses enough editing that it's not tortuous, but suspense building, and by the time I got to the end, My mood was like the hero's, and the movie made me hate the villain so much more that I think my mind tricked myself into thinking it was good. I don't know.

It's sex is suspense building; The remake of Last House on the Left has a rape scene that was torturous. Truly the hardest visuals I have watched so far, I wanted to turn my head away, but I felt it would have done an injustice to the actors and actresses having to basically disembowel themselves for entertainment's sake and I look away. the First time I watched ASF, I actually covered my eyes in one of the hardest deaths I've seen.

But ASF can be rewatched. I know I'm playing through Duke Nukem Forever right now, and I kind of want to watch A Serbian Film just so I can get the taste of Duke's one-liners out of my mouth, if that's any indicator of how bad the game is to the movie.

I'm not trying to seem like a troll, it's not a good movie, but it's not as bad you are making it out to be, personally. You can ask me about it, anyone can if they want to know about it. I'm not a gore hound, I hate most, if not all ultra violent horror movies, I think the scariest movie in my top 5 list is Street Fighter, but short of that, I thought it was fine.

Wait, what? So they filmed a child rape scene? Really???
I think at this point it's fair to call your attention to two other movies.

the first being... i think it might have been the kite runner? i dunno. it's a movie in the middle east and a group of kids rapes this other kid while his friend hides and watches.

second being The Girl Next Door, in which a girl goes to live with her Aunt, and ends up getting tied up, stripped and left hanging there in front of a group of boys for no real apparent reason. and this is a true story.

point being, child rape is in real life unfortunately, and is going to be depicted in movies. and in our increasingly numbed age, horror movies HAVE to keep stepping it up, so things like this are just the natural progression. a movie depiction of rape isn't disturbing. it's art imitating life.

life is disturbing.

...And? I'd still watch it?

The whole point of horror is to shock, scare and even disgust you.
As would I. The idea of the film actually intrigues me.....

Yes I have seen it. No, I am no squeamish. And no, I don't plan on ever mentioning this sick, perverted, twisted piece of shock bullshit ever again. Newborn rape? Seriously?!

Oh Lord. Why did you have to remind me??????? I'm going to go kill myself with a pair of spoons.
That immediately reminded me of this more lighthearted 'movie'

OT: yea, probably going to put this at the veeeeeeeerrry bottom of my movie list..... and then burn the list.
Thank you sir, for effectively wasting 2 hours of my life while I watched this.... then read about it.... then watched the next two videos... I think I have a new favorite youtube video now. Thank you!
