The only reason I hesitate to be a complete arsehole in games is in case I kill someone that could have given me weapons or cash etc, not due to morals.

I can't harvest the little sisters in Bioshock. Never have, and likely will.

Also it's really hard to do anything bad in a Bioware RPG. They do such a great job of making their characters (heck, even minor NPCs) human. I just don't want to hurt them.

I tend to get into my character a lot when I'm playing videogames, especially RPGs (ovbviously). And it always happens to me, I feel kind of bad for doing something in a game that moral reasons would prevent me from doing in real life.

For example, in Fallout 3, my karma all the way up like it was in the first two games and I hesitated a lot in enslaving someone to gain entrance in Paradise Falls, since I had blown my chance of getting in by paying. And I destroyed the town immediately after freeing all the slaves.

But I usually don't let it stop me from doing what I have to do in order to finish the game, it's just a roleplay thing.

Devil May Cry 3 and the third secret mission. The one where you have to stay in the air for 20 seconds. As Vergil. Half an hour wasted completing that one mission.

Several times in Fallout 3:
I can't do the "You Gotta Shoot 'Em In the Head" quest properly; I'll kill Tenpenny, but when I went to Ted Strayer, I was like, no fscking way, man.

Also I can't bring myself do the "Strictly Business" quest, take the locals' side in The Pitt (kidnapping), or kill Three Dog or Agatha (especially Agatha; she reminds me of my late grandmother).

Once I hesitated fighting a former ally in an RTS game. He had helped me out so much in prior missions, it didn't feel right destroying him... So he destroyed me. Immediately after I squashed him. Usually however, I never have real moral dilemmas in games.

Edit: I can't stop watching your avatar, it rocks!
Same here. My favorite companion in Baldur's Gate 2.

I can never play through a game through being evil for the first playthrough. I'm usually good as can be, then make a second account where I'm totally evil(except for ME1 and ME2)

I'll rage quit because something is too hard, or really goddamn scary, but not for morals.

Games are not real. In real life, I don't actually like shooting a pistol. In games, I'll empty magazine after magazine into whatever comes my way. In fact, I'm slightly annoyed the 'nilla fallout 3 doesn't let you kill children. They just run around being annoying when you kill all the grownups.

As for the companion cube: Get the fuck over it. It was a silly joke, trying to get players to laugh at the ridiculous scope of the tests, not something serious.

I feel bad if I kill human characters in Gears of War 2 with the neck-snap. Especially Cole, as he was the most charismatic and like-able character.

Also, in games like Hitman: Blood Money, I tend to find non-lethal solutions to most scenarios. I wish that game had flash-bangs and rubber bullets. Maybe a dart gun with a poison tip that renders people unconscious.

Morning All,

Just a quick question for you: Ever had a moment where you couldnt do a simple task in a game?
I can't be mean to Tali in Mass Effect 2, but I think that's about it.

I don't think you've quite grasped the nature of this thread.

I refused to shoot any of the civilians in the airport scene in MW2. I did mow down a few cops but then they were trying to kill me. I don't feel any moral obligation to save them. That scene initially made me feel a little ill honestly. I only really bought the game for the multiplayer but I was bored and tried the single player mode one day.
