While at work the other day a song came onto the speakers that actually made me stop in my tracks. It had what I can only describe as a " blazing funky rhythm." As fond as i am of the song..it is with a slightly covered face that i reveal the song to be "We R who We R" by Ke$ha. Since I have not only been playing this song on repeat and have been caught dancing and singing to said song, I felt compelled to ask my fellow escapist:

Ever have a song that "you're not supposed to like" get stuck in your head? And i mean STUCK..like you sing it while your making a sandwich stuck..
(if you never had the pleasure of hearing the mentioned song then do please go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXvmSaE0JXA and get rocked out your socks)

No, because I don't pay any attention to what I'm "supposed" to like. I like whatever I want. Those type of rules are usually just made up by a bunch of music snobs who think their taste is better when it isn't.

I personally couldn't give a damn whether or not I'm "supposed" to like something, mob mentality scares me.

Least popular thing I've gotten stuck in my head? Ke$ha's "Tik ToK" and "Take It Off". That girl is the queen of catchy.

For your viewing pleasure:

Warning, "The Snake Charmer" will enter your head and will not leave.

I'm working in a shoe store. Clients like radio. Me too. They like popular pop music station. I like the classic rock radio station. I can't believe they still play waka-waka.

Love Lockdown by Kanye West. Seriously the only way that the song will leave my head is with a bullet.

In principle, Bad Romance and several songs by the Scissor Sisters. However, I'm not ashamed of either one. Just a bit confused as to why they get stuck in my head.

That's just opinion. There is no such thing as an objectively "bad" piece of music, just like there is no such thing as objectively bad-tasting food.

Stuck unfavorable? I hate "California Gurls" and it got stuck after one hear. Double with "Replay" and "Paparazzi".

Stuck unfavorably, but grew on me? "Airplanes", "Dynamite" and possibly "Meet Me Halfway".

Lady Gaga and Ke$ha are singers of very catchy music... I own more of their music than I will admit to some of my snobbier friends.

The one I can't stop thinking about currently is The Catalyst by Linkin Park. And to think I thought I wouldn't enjoy any more of their music...

And I love everything about We R Who We R... except the spelling. Only four more letters, and it would have been perfect!

"It's a Small World" get stuck in my head quite often, and it drives me insane. I hate that song to the point that I plug my ears every time I passed that ride at Disney Land. Working that ride is a recurring nightmare for me.

Be careful here... he loves bringing "Millionares" in these conversations, which he loves (and I can see why), but the thread dies horribly shortly thereafter.

Well, sadly, I have a minor obsession with a lot of Katy Perry's music (Firework and Teenage Dream are at the top of my iTunes 'most played' list...) and during school I can be identified by boisterous singing of "Baby" (Justin Bieber...) and other songs that use to embarrass my old girlfriend to no end. It's kinda sad really...

Too true it's important to stay away from labels and being boxed in but I meant "not supposed to like" like songs that might typically be not of your taste but has somehow invaded your psyche and refuses to leave but deep down you know you would feel sad it had gone. Though you make a sound point..
