Sadly, my tastes run more toward power metal, but should I look upon those as recommendations?
Probably not. The closest thing I can get to power metal is Kamelot's March of Maphisto.
Heh, sorry, I meant more recommendations for me... ^^;

I think I've heard a couple of Kamelot's songs before. They any good?
I see. By what I've heard of their music, there's not much to dislike, unless of course you're not a fan of power metal. From what comments I've heard, Kamelot is power metal's Slayer. Does that make any sense?
Only a vague amount. The farthest I've ever gotten out of power/symphonic metal are Metallica, Finntroll, and some Megadeth.

Ever heard anything by Blind Guardian?
Nope, but I think my friend showed them to me once. I'll check them out shortly.

Metal's not my thing. The closest thing I'll listen to being metal is Staind.

In Flames (Melodic death metal from Sweden)
Rammstein (German industrial metal)
Gamma Ray (British power metal)
Deathstars (Death metal)
Board of Osiris (Death metal)
Sonata Artica (Power metal)
Korpiklanni (Finnish folk hard metal)
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE (Japanese metal)

I saw a lot of American bands being thrown out, so I thought I would chuck out some more international artists to see what you think. I recommend ALL of them.

Judging by your list, I'd recommend Krisiun, Job for a Cowboy, Whitechapel and Hypocrisy.

I saw In Flames live (along with Job for a Cowboy, Children of Bodom, and Megadeth), and I never realized how awesome they are.

Rammstein is decent, but I like Hanzel und Gretyl better. For all fans of Rammstein, I suggest checking them out.

Thanks for the other suggestions, I just recorded them on a notepad to check out.

Naglfar- pariah
Devian-god to the illfated
Vader(not easy choosing)- de profundis(old stuff) or Revelations or Impressions in Blood
Hatesphere- bloodred hatred
Devildriver- fury of our maker's hand
Gorgoroth(you probably already listen to them)
Ihsahn- Angl
Iskald-Shades of misery
Necrophagist- Epitaph
get more opeth because i cannot believe that you are tired of them, that's impossible
Unanimated- in the forest of the dreaming dead or ancient god of evil
Vesperian Sorrow- regenesis creation
Amon amarth(you probably know them too)
Between the buried and me
Bloodbath- Resurrection through carnage

it should be noted that i do not own a complete dicocrophy of some of the bands i mentioned so i cant say whether or not earlier or later albums are better than what i mentioned

if you are into black metal you should give these a listen

Enslaved- Isa or Hordanes Land
Belphegor- Goatreich
Dissection(any album perhaps "Reinkaos" stands out only because of a small genre change)
Thorns(if you absolutely have to listen to that industrial mess, at least give this a try, the only industrial metal that I like personally)
Satrycorn- ten diadems

I've forgotten about Vader and will now adjust my initial list accordingly. Vader is amazing.
I haven't gotten tired of Opeth (GODS!!!) or any of these bands, but my music library is just too small. I've listened to the same albums over and over.

With those things said, I thank you very much for your extensive list. They're all being added to my growing list of music to check out and hopefully buy.

He Is Legend play the best post-metal music out there.
This is one of the best tracks off their latest album:

Mayhaps the greatest band in the universe would interest you, that of course being Iron Maiden. (Not my opinion, a fact.) I would strongly recommend checking out any band from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, you know your Saxon, Motorhead, (once again) Maiden. I'm not the big a fan of new metal though (not nu metal although the fact remains the same.) But seriously, check out the classics.
You want an album? I'll give you an album!

Indeed, Maiden is amazing. That album is one of my favorites.

I've heard a bunch of those (thanks Dad for raising me right!) and I like them all.
Also, I never thought this thread would reach two pages! Thanks for the suggestions, though.

Maybe I won't have to close up this thread...

I guess I'll check tomorrow. Good night.

Thats good, some of the best music in the world.

Well I can suggest some other really great bands that are not metal if you would like to broaden your horizons. Or you can try these -

Dance the Architect
Made Out of Babies
Lamb of God
Black Sabbath /after Dio
Trivium

Thats it, I don't really like new metal.
