I find that the things that he chastizes games about are the things that I tend to hate and the things that he likes more often than not I agree. Though, my taste in games differs a bit- but I enjoy his reveiws nontheless. I don't like fps and I won't play anything that is like GTA. Those games are just boreing. (Though, I do like to drive cars around and cause havic.)
There are times that he is just wrong, though. When he reveiwed BRAID there was a set of doors that you couldn't get through if you went backward at all- the key will break if you do. He said that the key will break if you choose the wrong door. It really dousn't matter what door you choose.
He also reveiws games in a series without playing any of the previous games so he nags on the storyline. But, to me, if a game in a series can't have someway to fill in a player on what has happened so far really quickly there is something wrong with that. Even books that are in a series usually have a chapter that sets up the characters and plot again.
One of my most favorite games is God of War, which he rags on all the time for it's quick time events. At first I was kind of abashed that he didn't like the game but after thinking about it I kind of understand. Most every game after God of War's release has a quick time event in it. They work in GoW- it's part of that, but in other games it can just be really annoying!
Anyways. I can talk all day...
