I get your point, but bad idea for two reasons:

1. The thread has no point.

2. People won't get your sarcasm...

I got the sarcasm. I think it made it dumberer, personally.

It was more symbolic than anything, to be honest, but the world is a nicer place because of it.

Like putting down a rabid dog, not a pleasant thing, but necessary.

Oh c'mon man! He made gas cheaper for a day!

Seriously, a local station dropped their price sixty cents to celebrate the occasion. Place was packed.

This should be good.

And I kind of agree. You'd think people, just for one fucking day, could be glad that we managed to remove a terrible criminal. But no. People just have to be negative all the god damn time.

And I'm saying we should just be glad that a mass murderer is now dead, rather than party in the streets over his death. I say this because I know somebody will quote me and go "so your saying we should celebrate someone's death? YOU ARE JUST AS BAD AS HIM!". Since people can't see a middle ground between "celebrate someone's death in the streets" and "not care at all, ever".

Bin_laden's death is bitter sweet. The only sweet part is that some people feel like something was accomplished. Unfortunatley, Obama probably just got an undeserved second term, and something HUGE will happen in the future. Huge is refering to the number of deaths, of course.

For this thread, I love you.

And a 3 day suspension? really?

I'm just gonna hate on the people who are hating on the fact that Bin Laden is dead, so bear with me. I've heard people claim he should have been arrested and held to trial:

Wellllll no fucking shit Sherlock, that would have been the preferable outcome, but if you're a Navy SEAL and you've got America's most wanted in your sight's it's fairly obvious that from his point of view, nothing is going to be gained from going quietly, so it's you or him. So many wet lettuces fail to understand the practicalities.

Fuck him, he's dead. He caused the death's of many innocent people, now he's paid the debt. Go ahead America, enjoy your celebrations. Just be aware that our Royal Wedding was the most significant event of this last week OK?

:p

I always thought the real osama was the ideology and organisation that he created, like, I never even cared that he existed by this point, much like the Guy Fawkes Mask of Anonymous, it's an ideology and you can't run in and shoot it in the head, regardless of the initial source.

And yes, the preferred position to just about anyone was alive, but my guess is he was forced to shoot (Like, if they're firing at you you can fire back, if someone who surrenders whips out a pistol, shoot him in the face)

Counter-counter culture. It's cool to be against the "cool" apathetic people now apparently. does anyone have an opinion of their own to share? Maybe someone who's put some thought into it?

Hey, let's think of it this way, everyone. 9/11 was unprovoked, yes? And we just killed the man Al-Qaida worships as a god...

.. We're fucked.

I don't know about any of you but I was listening to the radio when a news snippet came on that said " More news on the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden..." and just the words killed Osama Bin Laden made me smile.

I agree %100 if you don't agree that people should be celebrating his death just shutup for the moment you can complain tomorrow.

Suspended for that? Why?

Anyways, I'm not rejoicing in the streets, but I can't say that I don't care either.

Also, the last line made me think of <spoiler=this>http://imgs.xkcd.com/store/imgs/witty_square_1.jpg for some reason.

As a yank, I'll see your wedding and raise you a funeral.

I think it's because it's a low-content post in the sense that it has no value, whatsoever. His argument really is "I don't give a fuck about arguments and the philosophy behind this" - I suppose that's fine, but then he just goes trolly madness and says "Anyone who has a view I do not agree with, or gives a lot of thought to it is clearly just an idiot that likes to think they like it because they saw an interesting film once"

Kind of like if I posted "I don't care god exists" then you read it and it's me saying "I just don't give a fuck - oh look, I'm all awesome and shit lalala - if you hold some kind of view on this clearly it's just cause you're parroting the bible/matrix or whatever mass media that deals with the metaphysics of god"

Really, it's just troll baiting. At least, that's what I've observed (I initially thought it weird to just go BAM with a suspension, but there seems to be a decent reason if you look closely enough)

But which is the lesser evil? America or Osama? In my opinion they are both incredibly evil. Deny it all you want, but America have done their fair share of murdering too.
