I fail to see how this is funny.

I love Atop the Forth Wall. I didn't much at first but I got into it. There's something about Linkara that makes him the best at reading in a silly voice.

Personally, while it's kinda entertaining, I don't find Monty Python all that funny. They have their really good sketches that make me laugh, but I can't watch the TV show and the only thing I really enjoyed sitting down and watching was Spamalot.

And Mutts is usually more adorable than funny. Then again I don't get the newspaper anymore now... I kinda miss Mutts.

That show The Big Bang Theory. Everyone I know loves it and thinks it's hilarious when it's just absolute shite. I even gave it a fair trial and sat through 2 full episodes, it just wasn't funny.
It took me at least 5 episodes to warm up to it.At first it was just a cringeworthy pain to watch, afterwards I found it funny.

For those old enough to remember:

Andy Kaufman. Being a man portraying a man being an ass still makes you an ass.

Nonono. I said that you have a good point that people are entitled to their opinions about what humor is good or bad.

I also said that everyone is entitled to bash the humor they think is useless dribble. Hence, I do not have an issue with the opinions expressed in this thread. I was not saying that *I* was verbally abusing anyone. Because, well. I wasn't. XD
oooh... OK. Now I get it. Thanks for clearing that up.

My Name is Earl, Friends, The Nanny... actually, just any American sitcom aside from Seinfeld and 30 Rock.

Edit: And all comedy movies except from Monty Python. Yes, I saw the Hangover. No, I didn't think it was funny.
Agreed. Though I've never seen 30 Rock.

I'd also like to add Napoleon Dynamite and the original Dumb and Dumber. I think I might have something wrong with me though, because I know at least a few people who think those movies are the shit.

One thing I think is funny that nobody else does is YouTube Poop. For the uninitiated, YTP has nothing to do with "Two Girls, One Cup" and everything to do with those crappy Mario and Zelda games that came out on the Phillips CDi. All I can say is that you need to really like retarded, juvenile, random humor, and have a high tolerance for stupid nonsense that isn't funny at all (like randomly looping the same two-second piece of video over and over with cycling color effects).

I don't find XKCD funny. I'm not alone either; there's a whole blog full of people who think XKCD sucks.
I agree with you I don;t find it funny either, but they are interesting to read from time to time.

No problem at all! Thanks for asking, in fact. My sentences become run-ons, and get very cluttered very quickly. :)

How's about Transformers 2? I went with a friend, he thought it was hilarious. I couldn't help but ask myself "didn't I come into this expecting to see fighting robots?" And those two littles dudes... God, I thought they were hideously annoying even before I had time to mull it over and hear other peoples' opinions.

And this isn't so much people finding unfunny things funny, but the audience actually applauded once the thing was over. I was nervously going along, wondering if I had either become completely dead inside and forgot how to enjoy a good movie, or if I missed my mandatory lobotomy from the brain police.

I also agree with D-Mic that horribly made youtube poops are a pretty bad offender, though I've managed to miss a lot of the worse spaghetti-dinner ones.

Honestly, I just cannot abide The Office. Neither it's American release nor the original are funny in the least, to me. Also, spoof movies. They come out, the Wayans' Bros are topical again for a week and I die a little bit inside.

As for Game Dogs, I'm still holding out faith that it might turn into something funny. I generally like the people involved and can't quite make a good appraisal when we're 5 episodes in.

Never really understood Python but I thought The Mighty Boosh was hilarious
Amen, I feel sorry for those lacking the wit to laugh at The Mighty Boosh. There are so many other worse comedies that we need to hate. I for one love Phelous and his work on TGWTG, but I don't understand why The Spoony One is so funny.

Teen movies. Stuff like American Pie. I really don't see the humour, but apparently I might be in the minority since nearly everyone else I know thinks they are brilliant.

It is impossible to convince someone that something is funny. Either you find it funny, or you don't.

I thought Pineapple Express was funny. Let's say you didn't. Ok, I can say "but don't you remember that part where he put his foot through the window, or spilled the slushies on the car? That was so funny!" See? I can't actually give a reason why it's funny, it just is to me. I can't give any reasons why.

I'm still trying to get used to The Office. I'll be watching and there are moments where I think, "okay, I see how this was supposed to be funny, but it isn't."

I'll also go with Will Ferrel movies.

[EDIT]

Another thing about humor is that most of it seems to be directed at 12 year old boys and stoners.
It is easy because they will find anything funny.
I agree with The Office i can sit through a hole episode because i'm bored but im like "how is this funny" all the time.
I know someone who thinks it's hilarious and i'm like "double-v-tee-eff mate?"

Everyone's taste in comedy varies, I have a harder time understanding when people don't find something funny.

With that said, things I don't find funny that others seem to.

Female comedians. Now this might seem like a massive generalisation, and with the exception of Sarah Silverman and the occasional cutting remark by Jo brand, women just aren't funny. I have no idea what it is. This includes: the Catherine Tate show and Katy Brands big ass show, both responsible for 30 straight minutes of cringing silence. I know this makes me sound sexist, I don't choose to find women unfunny, I just want be honest and wonder if anyone else has found themselves quietly thinking the same thing and been too embarrassed to say it.

Peter Kay. Britain's favourite comedian I remember this guy was voted a being. It's the crazy frog paradigm, just because million of people buy into something, doesn't make it good.

The Big Bang Theory. It's perfectly enjoyable to watch, I don't hate the show, I just don't ever find myself laughing. 4 clever guys, one averagely intelligent girl, hilarity ensues? No.

Casual Bigotry. Calling people Jews, Jewish, N*****s. That being said I do find it funny when people hold a mirror up to people's racist views. Family Guy for example. A lot of people accuse that show of being racist, it isn't, it ridicules the people that hold those views and buy into the stereotypes. It's like Brass Eye's pedophile episode, everyone was outraged at it for trivialising pedophilia. It wasn't making pedophiles an object of comedy, far from it, it was laughing at how over the top and savage the media can be, often at the expense of logic, facts and humanity when it comes to sensitive topics. It was then vindicated by the media's subsequent frenzy over the episode, proving Brass Eye's point in the most glorious way possible.

There's more but this is turning into an essay and I'm in danger of taking myself to seriously. With that in mind: Fart, boobies, bums and ballsacks.
