Assuming this actually happened, you shouldn't feel bad. Whoever those guys were, they EARNED that robbery.

...Wait, why the hell was there a stray dog in your attic in the first place? Is it possible that these guys actually let the dog into your house, WITHOUT actually robbing it despite obviously having easy access, just so that they could show up later and rob your house anyway?

Like I said, I think those guys EARNED their right to all your stuff.

And was the dog still there after they left?
This was my reaction... and totally off-topic and all. But do you seriously have a Nixon fist-pump avatar?

+ 10 respect.

Honestly, if those guys went to all that trouble to rob you, and came up with a pretty brilliant plan (and obviously did the research to know there's a dog in your attic), then I think they deserve everything they got. That wasn't just some half-assed snatch and grab job, that was a pretty brilliant con.

Well, that's really unfortunate, I hope your parents get that it was just a dumb mistake and ... wait a minute.

You have a dog in your attic?

Why do you have a dog in your attic?

Otherwise, that really sucks. We've all been conned at least once, it's just a shame you lost a bunch of your stuff to this one. >_<

... Not sure if trolling or just stupid. And further more, WHY in the hell were you keeping a dog in a attic? And a stray at that?! And you had intended to let them tear gas the dog... If any part of your story is true, you deserve to have all your stuff stolen. And you certainly don't deserve a new 360.

Life lesson for you - If you trust anyone's word at face value, EVEN MINE, your a damn fool.

Didn't think that robberies could be so planned, but now my parents are mad at me. Now I can only afford a 360 which really annoys me.
Wait isn't it normally owls?
A simple google search shows this story has been passed around a couple of times, so yeah.

One time this scraggly looking guy with long greasy hair came to my door and explained he needed to confirm the diameter of my anus as there was apparently a disease going around causing enlargened anuses.

Naturally I let him have a go. He said I had nothing to worry about and that mine was nice and tight. I wouldn't know for sure though since he wouldn't let me see what he was doing.
Oh, sorry about that. I just have nothing to do in the day anymore since I lost my job as the wallet inspector. At least I have warms hands though, right?...

My friend bought a laptop from currys a few days ago. The list price was 350, she spent closer to 600 because the salesman did a pro con job on her. Shouldn't trust anyone.
how many days?

if it's in the last 10 I think she can go and ..... kick em' in the nuts
or just ask for her money back

And yet, they left behind his PC.
Probably because it had Vista installed. The burglars ain't gonna go near it with a 10-foot pole if that's the case.

He's pretty lucky that they didn't sneak off with his feet and kidneys when he wasn't paying attention by the look of things.

Oh by the way, OP, was the dog still there?

Yeah this was pretty much my reaction, except replace "whether or not you're bullshitting us here" with "I know you're bullshitting us here".

Is this trolling? I don't understand. Bravo I guess? I don't see the point if this is bullshit.

If it's real, that's a really creative way to steal things, props to them for the ballsy move but not for the actual act of stealing. It's someone you probably know pretty well. How else would they know you have a dog in your attic?

My childminders mum got hit a similar way years back. There was a really loud bang and about 5 mins later some people with gas company ID's came knocking saying that a gas main had blown and they needed to check the house for leaks due to blow back. One sat her down in her front room, talked to her, calmed her down and told her she didn't need to worry while the other cleaned the house of anything valuable. Hundreds possibly thousands in jewellery was taken. The police reported later that some 20-30 houses had been targeted with tens of thousands in stolen property.

Not so funny when it really happens.

A successful troll is one that leaves everyone confused and trying to decide whether they got trolled by a godlike troll or people are that dumb...

I can say this: successful troll is successful...

Dude, first rule in every part of the planet, ask for a document to prove who they are, if they don't provide it call the police, impersonating an officer is always a crime.

Just to add more content, if you're seriously such an idiot to let this happen, YOU DESERVE IT.
That is kind of messed up. There is not a single person on the planet that doesn't do really dumb crap sometimes. How is this something he had coming to him? if I had to guess, he gets robbed, then you tell him he deserved it. I am sure when he is thinking about all the stuff that got stolen, he will think of your kind words.
And to be fair, HOW in the world do you say no to someone wearing
