I didn't say I liked them, although I do like some of the older metalcore. Back when it was, you know, good. As I Lay Dying, All That Remains, Haste The Day's first 3 albums, Killswitch Engage, VERY early Underoath (which was closer to a deathcore band)...

Do those make you want to punch yourself in the face?
Nah, they're alright in my book.

Just...ugh. Bring Me The Horizon. I still can't quite get over this [http://www.bookrags.com/wiki/Bring_Me_the_Horizon#Incident_in_Nottingham]. In my hometown damnit!

edit: Actually, upon further listening, they aren't quite alright in my book. I just think music can be so much more interesting than this constant dynamically flat push of distortion.

I can go for a bit of Killswitch Engage at times though, at least they have a vocalist with an interesting voice.

It was a Valve-alanche!

The Valve-alanche
.

It starts with a post about Valve, usually involving the word 'cake', 'Episode 3' or 'boycott'.

Then someone says something bad about Valve... they make a little snowball and toss it down the mountain.

Before you know it, your thread is derailed and hurling ten thousand tonnes of raging snow down its sides in an orgasmic, elemental shitstorm of insults, fanboy wankery and intense 'Gabe is fat! Gordon Freeman has no legs!' anti-Valve flaming.

The Valve-alanche.
You heard it here first.
I was once insulted due to believing (and still believing) that Half-Life 2 sucked. I stopped playing at Follow Freeman, maybe the ending makes up for the entire game? (It's cool if you like it but my god that game has one of the largest fan boy followings I've seen).

For discussion value, have you ever been insulted for something utterly retarded?

My friend bought the newest Danzig album he released a few months ago and he asked if I wanted it too since I enjoy his music, so I said yeah, he sent me the song files and I didn't think twice about it. He bought the album, but I didn't and he sent me it, I'm not sure if it was good or bad, but hey, some money went back to it, just not my own. I don't feel as bad about it.

If you pirate when you can't find it or "can't afford it" but want to buy it, that's like me. I don't have my own personal source of income to spend on what I want yet, I'm dependent on my parents, they say what goes. But if you pirate in any other way but have the money for it, you just don't care and treat others like shit about it, yeah, shut the fuck up. That's not acceptable behavior.

Yea I have been insulted for not drinking alcohol all that much. When I did drink some I had guinness and it was the only beer I could stand tasting. My friends and co-workers insult me for drinking like once every 6 months and then they call me a pussy for liking only guinness. (I live in south dakota, USA.) And Ive only tried guinness in a bottle and heard its better from a tap.

For reading comics
For playing Magic: The Gathering (one person making fun, and we had two two-headed giant matches going. The guy fled)
For enjoying pokemon
For playing video games (Really)
For playing battletech (The person didn't realize my teammate had a nerf gun (for fun, he had a artillery strike beacon). There's a reason the warning says not to aim at the eyes.)
For not having an xbox (hate fanboys)

I've been insulted in my school for proffering the Wii over the X-box 360. In the meantime all people who insulted me play only Call of Duty. Heck I got insulted cause I said I played Halo because they all play Call of Duty so my FPS was clearly worse.

I get insulted for liking videos games and anime quite often. Mostly from family. It actually gets to the point where I actively avoid watching any anime around certain family members as to avoid getting insulted...

I also get insulted for liking SciFi/Fantasy novels. Heck, I've been mocked for liking fiction in general..

Oh... And I've been insulted for working part time while attending college... Because apparently I'm an idiot for pulling down a night shift job while still maintaining a 3.0 gpa...

Just ignore those who make fun of you buying music. I buy all my music unless it is not available on any major download store.

Lol, well it's actually my #3 game of all time that one... but hey if you don't like then that's cool :)

The beauty of stuff is that everyone likes different stuff.

I get insulted for being a Lolita Dress wearing Japanese Music Listening, Video Game playing, Manga Reading Otaku
Oh and I read books too
I pay good money for my stuff I support everything I like and the one thing I've learned is too hell with everyone else I'll just be myself and be happy
Then again my friends look at me weird when I tell them I'd rather pay for a game than hack the game into a system.

Same situation. I'm sorry my parent's coworkers bought me Itunes gift cards, I'm sorry I'm using them to buy songs. I'm sorry I try to pay the producers the money they deserve instead of just downloading music.

I salute you, for what that is worth.

OT: I get insulted because I am from Kansas and yet am smarter than most big-city folk, I actually purchase my entertainment, and refuse to drink alcohol simply to become intoxicated.
My otaku/geek side is something no one really cares about.
