Alright, I've been wondering this for a while. A few months ago, my 360 got the RROD. However, I've noticed something. There have been instances where I've gotten the red rings, but they weren't the ACTUAL red rings... if that makes any sense.
You know the two controller ports in the front? Well, everytime I plug a controller into the TOP port, my 360 gets the red rings. That occured a month before the next problem.
A month later, I'm playing MK VS DC with my friend. Everything if fine and dandy. My friend's controller shuts off and I reach for the connect button on my 360. My finger twitches and hits the power button. Well, I turn it back on and BOOM, the red rings show up.
After a little fiddling around, I noticed a pattern close to that of the top controller port. Everytime I plug my AC cables in, it red rings. When the cables are out, it runs perfectly.
I've experimented with 4 of my friends AC cables, each on gave my 360 the red rings. Now, my question is this. Is it just the PORT that's fried, or is it the 360 itself?
