When was the last time zombie horror action blended smoothly with fast paced shooter combat and managed to retain the feel of a genuinely frightening walking dead gore-fest?

Seriously, House of the Dead is the game equivalent of Braindead.

i just dont like the fact theyve redesigned the character models, sure the black guy in just a rumpled shirt with a bloodstain and some suit trousers is a cool look but now the girls wearing a tracksuit or something.

I wouldn't judge the game just yet. Especially based on videos they release.
I'm sure you can play it safe and slow if you wanted to and still be able to survive, and on higher difficulties you'd think it would be required.
There will always be that crowd of raging FPS maniacs who only want to run around spraying everything in sight. That doesn't mean the game will be 100% based around that.

Then again, I'm not getting my hopes up for it either. Too many recent games have been a let-down. It's a better approach to expect that a game will be mediocre. Then if it turns out to be good, and proves it's not just another cash cow.. You can be pleasantly surprised and enjoy it just the same.

Well, if Run and Gun zombie shooting isn't your thing, you might want to look into a game called Dead Island for 360 and PC. It focuses on staying alive, conserving ammo, looking for shelter, etc. It's supposed to come out this year, but I haven't heard anything about it in months.

Also kinda smells like vaporware truthfully.
