Well if you're afraid of robbery like me, then you most likely have some sort of weapontype oject near your bed.

My weapon is my crappy secondary putter that I no longer use in golf. It does me no good in golf, but I bet it would do good on a robber's skull.

My question is, what weapon, if any, do you keep near your bedside?
Putters break easily. Use a 5 iron instead. Irons are more study and can inflict more damage.

OT: I have a baseball bat and a sledgehammer in my closet (which is literally 4 feet from my bed) and a supply of about 5 or 6 knives in my dresser drawer (again, about 4 feet from the bed).

I really shouldn't, but I have a metal baseball bat right under my bed. And if I'm sleeping on the other side for whatever reason, I have a piece of my drumset from Rockband which I never use since nobody I know likes the drums.

I have a set of replica samurai swords (though a size smaller because the storekeep tricked me), but there in case of zombie invasion instead of burglary. I've lived in a very bad neighbourhood for most of my life, but our family have never had anything stolen. The only break in we've ever had only took stuff from the athlete who was staying with us at the time.

Zombie invasion, however, I'll grab my katanas, my coat, and then jump out the window onto my neighbour's rooftop.

Let's see...

*Breathes*I have two katanas, one wakashi, one tanto. Four daggers. Two revolvers. One rifle. A switchblade. my two giant ass dogs that bark at the slightest thing and will freaking attack anyone they think has the intent to harm a family member. If there isn't any intent to harm, they just don't stop barking.
Remind me not to rob you...

I have a 20 gauge shotgun under my bed, with 5 shells in my end table.

I didn't put it there for defense. Its just where I keep things like that.

But in the rare event someone DOES break into my home, It'll be the last thing they ever do.
So you would actually kill someone to prevent losing your pc/gameconsole!? Wow...
Manly to protect family, ourselves, our stuff you know were i'm going with this

I just have a kendo stick, and it's not so much under my bed as it's close to my door, but i'd imagine it would still get the job done

I have...
1) Me, as a 2nd-degree black belt in Okinawan karate.
2) A hatchet under my bed.
3) A punch dagger hanging beside me.

None of the above are specifically for the purpose of defense...but if it came to that, I suppose any of them could do.

I suggest a baseball bat my friend as if you miss with the head the shaft won't hurt that much.
But i always keep my 20 gauge under my bed. Ill take guns any day.

On my nightstand i have a set of throwing knives
i don't think it would be a too great idea to toss my only means of defense in the direction/hands of the attacker :D
As long as I don't throw all of them I'm fine
its not like i can wield all 3 of them at once
still you are essentially giving your opponent a free weapon to shank your ass with^^

Odds are that the person I throw the knives at already has a weapon so... giving him a knife wont make much of a difference. Especially if he has a gun, if the person had a gun then why would he use my knife?

true, but if he has a gun it's even a worse idea to throw a knife at him^^ the odds of incapatating him right away are so astronomicly low that he will probabbly just riddle the knife tosser with bullets.

the thing about knifes is that paradoxely they are an insanely dangerous attack weapon while being an extremely ineffective defense weapon. knives will not stop a person right away. oh, he will die, but five minutes later by internal bleeding, after he has curbstomped the defender completely . before that he will, due to adrenaline, not even realize he is wounded or if he realizes he will not be handicaped by it. that's why the first thing you learn in every serious defense course is that knives are no viable option for ones defense in most situations.

While I agree with you, I would not use my GOOD golf clubs on someone. Trust me, if I hit someone in the head with a putter, they'll most likely be down for the count.
I love my 5 iron, it's served me well on the fairway, I'd never hit a robber with it!

Yep, I got a few.

An aluminum baseball bat under my bed, spiked knuckles in my bedside table, and a hunting knife next to that. My boyfriend, meanwhile, is armed with a katana and an axe.
