Yes, Wikipedia makes it a pain in the ass to make your own articles and a little too much effort to edit. Facebook is three buttons and 4 minutes and you have a group like this. Wikipedia is like any other source: only as strong as its references and quality of writing. It generally acts as a smart jumping-off point, even if its direct use is usually discouraged.
