Why are so many people hung up on the "porn star" aspect? I mean, its just a bunch of cool people playing dnd. If they weren't in the business, the concept would still be sound and half as many people would be flaming it.

I don't think the term "cool people playing D&D" Has ever been uttered. Unless "You don't see..." is at the start of the sentence anyway. Also, the people in the video are not cool, not by a long shot. Stephen Fry is cool. Gothic strippers are not.

Seems to be a number of adult film stars branching out these days. First I see Kassem G interviewing them on YouTube, now I see them playing D&D on the Escapist (Though Kassem's videos are, thus far, 100% more entertaining.)

I for one think that Kassem G is a bit of a try hard. Everything he does apart from a few 'California On' videos make me cringe.

I liked it. It was a 4 minute intro to things and I can't wait for the next episode. If you don't have the patience to let it develop, well the world (or internet) is filled with options and the next one is just the click of a button away.

I essentially joined 'the Escapist' just for this series cause Zak's description of the (un?)leashed Chaos that is his game of 4 D&D Virgins (along with 2 Adepts) trying to understand and/or control what's going on and figure out what to do read like a rollicking good time. Watching it is like watching kittens play with a chain gun.

Also note that the Satine Phoenix who commented on pg 2 of the Comments is the Satine Phoenix from the video, so it would seem at least some of the stars are willing to participate.

I think this puts an end to The Escapist's win streak. I just couldn't watch it at all. Got to about two minutes before I realised I'm just watching somebody's home video. Since it's an introduction, I will watch the real first episode when it's out but I don't have high hopes.

i don't know. i guess it could be good. but it seems like absolutely nothing happened. and get someone to work the camera while you guys play or at least get a tripod. I'll give it a chance, watch the next few episodes, before i praise or condemn it, but it's not off to a great start.

Gothic? To quote Inigo Montoya I do not think it means what you think it means. I know a lot of cool people who play dnd. To be fair, my definition of cool is likely different than yours. By cool I mean "people who are likely fun to hang out with and can converse on topics I am fond of". I don't know what cool is to you.

This could do with some higher production values. Like a tripod and insistence that every one's cell phones are off so you don't get that beeping interference on the mic. I like the idea of filming a group's D&D campaign. Using ?adult entertainers? is a good gimmick I guess. They speak coherently, are easy on the eyes, and aren?t camera shy. I am looking forward to see where this goes.

I kinda like this. Of course this may be due to the fact that I've never actually played DnD before and am still mystified and intrigued by it. A bunch of likeable people playing it appeals to me.

I have to agree with most of the comments here. It's basically just taping a group of people playing D&D and while I'm aware that it's popular to turn nigh EVERYTHING into a reality-show I'm not convinced that it's very exciting to watch people imagine something.
The Hookup seems to be that all (nigh all?) those women work in the adult entertainment-industry. Now if it's expected that I tear open my zipper because I know that the person I'm watching now also is available to watch for having sex, I have to say I feel even a bit insulted to be considered that easy to manipulate.
A user asked in the comments here why many people here seem to be hung up on the pornstar-aspect. Well, appearantly it has some importance for the author, or why would he mention it in the text under the video, why would he put so much emphasis on pointing that fact out and for what other reasons would we havethat ridiculous "I just sit here and suck...yeah I suck. I suck."-scene, among others?
I doubt there would be so much emphasis on their jobs if they were all...dunno...bus drivers?

If I ignore that fact it's really just a bunch of people playing D&D and that's...not as exciting as it may sound, even or rather especially from the perspective of a Roleplayer.

I guess it could be exciting for reclusive people who actually were convinced that Roleplaying games are exclusively played by male, undernurished freaks with gigantic glasses and lifetime-bracers.
Although those people are probably even fascinated by the fact that women may have an ow income "nowadays".
