The stupid here is dissipating a little, but I have to point out something that should be blindingly obvious:
The video is explicitly an introduction to the cast of this series - not a typical episode with longer, chronologically arranged sequences of role-playing. Did no one notice that this short clip clearly edits together footage from game setup, actual role-playing, and reflections after the session? It's like the montage of upcoming scenes at the beginning of a television show.
I used to weep thinking about the average person's ability to read critically; now it seems like the average person is incapable of even watching something critically.

Penny Arcade has done this 3 times, audio only. It normally gets better as time goes on...as long as this crew gets creative and doesn't get too sidetracked. And if the storyline is good. Maybe we could hear what the start of the storyline is all about or exactly who the characters are.

WTF? Come on escapist, is this some weird demographic push? I dont need an imaginary girlfriend because im a gamer, (i play rifts, by the way). Dont lose your dignity escapist, Russ Pitts what the hell? I find this whole thing vacuous and degrading. So many jump cuts to someone else saying something boring. Please end this............I love the escapist..... this is CHEAP!

I liek it. My group is almost constantly introducing new players to D&D and it always seems to go about like that. Also congratulations on your show and I look forward to more.
After thinking more about this show, its growing on me. Its quite different from your previous work. Now I know that not everyone who plays Dungeons and Dragons is a virgin. Who would have thought?Satine Phoenix said:

Aside from the people involved being quasi-celebrity, this is no different than any other group of D&D players posting up edited footage of their game nights on Youtube. Would be more interesting if more of the actual game/roleplay was presented, and it was a little more coherent. It just jumped around back and forth and back again between different things going on too much to be interesting.

This spontaneous show (that appeared out of nowhere) seems to have fallen flat for me. There are very few times that i'll stop a video midway through, but lack of being able to understand anything being said or having a camera being jigged about makes a video unwatchable. Needless to say, for these reasons and the ones provided, I won't be watching this again.
Regarding the video, I watched it to the end, and will watch the next one in the series. I'm an avid tabletop gamer and unlike some people who think that watching someone else's gaming group is boring, I don't. The Penny Arcade podcasts are a pretty good example that there's an audience for such things. The camera-work was a little off - I'm a fan of tight shots, but those were just a little too close - but it wasn't so bad I couldn't tolerate it.
Then again, I've been known to watch videos of hummingbirds nesting. Maybe I'm not the most discerning of viewers.
I'm not sure what to say about the comment thread. I generally follow the nothing-nice-to-say-say-nothing rubric, so I'll go with this: I find that having the gamers all be from the sex industry no less compelling than having them all be army grunts, or all be nerds living in a house. That they all share a common experience, that that experience is different from mine, that's all fresh to me. I want to see where that goes.
