Oh well, while I'll farm like a mad little man in PS:p, play classics like FF:T, Monster Hunter Freedom, and soon the latest iterations, while waiting for Dissidia <3, and Agito.

Must say, my DS is a much better paperweight ;)
hmm how is Phantasy star portable. The demo was OK, the reviews said it was "meh" but I haven't gotten any real good user input on it. the story bits they gave you in the demo left me on the fence mainly.

If you step on it, it goes crunch.
But seriously, if you like the thing, congratulations!

Sorry for the lack of suggestions though, I stay far away from handheld gaming.

If you don't hack it, you are gonna have a bad time.

These days, I mostly use mine as a portable video player. With the fast-play options on the video player I can watch 4 Simpsons episodes in my hour of breaks at work. When I'm not watching videos though, I LOVE the SNES, PSX, and GBC emulators.

Actually, most reviews were positive about it, the only issue most reviewers had seem to lie with poor networking codes that resulted in some lag when a 3rd and 4th player connected.

Additionally, other problems were related with the cutscenes being rather cheap. A badly 3d rendered character appearing on the screen to deliver dialogues you may have heard a thousand times, cliche characters. Last, but not least, another problem lied with the story being at best, average. And of course, the lack of an infrastructure mode, but still, you can play through the multiplayer content by yourself or with the aid of the AI, which well, is a bit dumb, but then again, they can be useful (dropping a heal spell when needed ;p ).

But I doubt you will be playing PS:p for the story. The game play is fun and gets challenging as you get access to higher tiers areas, and so far, the re-playability is tremendous.

PS:p feels like a rip-off of Monster Hunter, but in a totally good way. The learning curve and difficulty is almost non-existent, and you get into the action pretty fast. It has a much faster pace, with slightly better enemies that are not blasting you off with 5k dmg a la crisis core New Game+ on hard.

The 3 different starter classes play differently as well, and it add another layer of fun when switching between the close and personal Hunter, long range Ranger, and magic-user Force class which is somehow the harder one to control.

And the best part I am enjoying so far is how solo-able the entire game is.

EDIT: GODDAMNIT, I wish I could mod my PSP (damn 83V3 mobos, and I even gave my fat psp to a friend). :(

Ah thank you for the info. I DID have fun with the demo, and the boss fights felt epic and fun. My main concern WAS the story though as mission grinding can be a tad boring but I play JRPG's, I'm used to mindless grind lol :p

Get Puzzle Quest. Never got so addicted so quickly to such a simple and fun game.
Otherwise, the Loco Roco games are good, and "Dead Head Fred" is a real hoot, even more so if you happen to be a fan of Dr. Cox from Scrubs. You may recognize the voice and overall tone...
And I personally thought Chains of Olympus was a better game than God of War 2, but that's just me.

Well, you can load emulated games on it fairly easily. Plus, in case you need to defend yourself, all you have to do is twist the thing and the game will shoot out. (Or did Sony fix that?)

Ratchet and Clank Size Matters
Any of the SOCOM games

Patapon
Daxter
Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Dsigaea Afternoon of Darkness
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

My personal choices.

Congratulations! You've just bought the worst console in the current generation! Sell it quickly, buy a DS instead and forget about the whole terrible experience. But whatever you do, please don't play anything on it. That thing they call an analogue stick will destroy your thumb as you try to play cheap spin offs of better games.

I think they fixed it, if I remember correctly. Anyway, if you don't already have a DS I would trade it in for one, it has much better games unless you hack the PSP and emulate some older games.

I get that was supposed to be satirical or something but......really now? Really? Did you really just go that low? I'm disappointed...

This is a troll. Please ignore the troll or a Kitten will die.

No seriously, "cheap spin offs?", No need to post these pointless comments. Patapon, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Acid, Disgaea (With ADDED content), a few remakes here and there that actually made the console shine (Dracula/Megaman), Killzone: Liberation, Crisis Core. At least the PSP is somehow free from the 95% of shovelware on the DS.

On a side note, I have been using the PSP for 4 years now, and I have yet to experience any problems with the PSP controls. The only game that was damn painful to control, was Monster Hunter, and that was only because I always had to move the camera around.

Hmm a system that has sold over 50 million units (thats the sales of PS3 and 360 combined might I add) is the worst system of this gen? funny. There is no "worst console", they all have their ups and downs so instead of trying to troll, how bout offering some real advice like game suggestions?

I'm offering a suggestion. I had a PSP myself and I still wake in a cold sweat screaming "MUM! I dreamed I was playing agent Clank again! How could they do that to him!?" then I weep into my pillow as I think how blisters to size of small nations appear on my thumb after ten minutes of using that bloody thing!

But seriously, the PSP is a terrible bit of hardware. If you want a portable system, buy a DS instead, you'll be much happier for it.

*sigh* I can understand if it wasn't your cup of tea but seriously. I don't really see how it's a terrible piece of hardware at all, and the thumb stick is not that bad at all, don't know how it got so bad with you. Instead of offering valid criticisms you just go into some pointless ranty troll statement. And the "buy a DS" thing is getting old.
