What is it exactly that it's supposed to be parodying? It looks like one of a million similar anime openings.

I have seen much much much much much much weirder stuff in animes. If it doesn't have tentacles doing something inappropriate, it's not really even approaching strange by the standards of animes.

Okay, so its an anime with a shit ton of sex appeal. Not sure where you've been, but even my limited viewing of anime has shown to me that this is quite normal. In fact, the only abnormal thing I've noticed is the lack of that one male character for the ladies to fawn over.
It's like Paradise Lost meets Ikki Tousen. Not sure how this would make anyone lose faith in humanity. This happens a lot more often than you think in Japan and more specifically, the world of anime.
It's not like if a beloved franchise gets rebooted into an inappropriately racy or gory tone that completely ruins the franchise and makes its fans loathe it.

Oh I see it's your first time with anime, it can be a bit oh a shock, but that is what it has always been about, absurd fights, girls of questionable ages, lots of skin, upskirt, panty shots, jiggly boobies, ... basically cartoon pervs gone wild.
And the funny thing is that the animation style is really smooth and all of 'em are rather well drawn. It's a shame that talent is essentially, wasted on such things. And people claim to not know why the anime industry is dying.
