I hate it when bears wait just outside your tent, so the second you walk out, they eat you. It's totally unfair.

Captcha: patience, child
Wait until the bear leaves? Probably a good idea...

That's called the sun, sweetie. Its heat is what allows us to live on this planet. Also, the "Not quite right" smell is what places would smell like if they weren't all people-d up.

OT: I'm a big fan of camping. I'm actually going camping for two weeks starting tomorrow. I don't like people who take all sorts of useless things camping with them like GPS units and gas stoves. What's wrong with a map and some matches?
FPS camping, I've never been a huge fan of really.

While I find it sometimes annoying, it isn't that bad, what annoys me is people illogically bitching about campers, like Snipers. Snipers should relocate, sure, but they should not be running around the battlefield like a bunch if idiots.

Also, being called a Camper when I am defending an objective is just retarded. So what, I should be running around the map while you plant the bomb, because 'campin iz for nubs lol!!11!!1".

Camping is pretty obnoxious.

You can shout 'legitimate strategy' all you want, everyone still hates you.
Please do not confuse yourself with everyone.
That's pretty obnoxious in itself.
So you're a camper then? :p

Relax dude, I'm just kidding.
Ah my bad, it's so hard to tell online sometimes.

Whilst I do camp if the situation calls for it I also feel the thrill of successfully rushing a defended enemy position, dodging incoming fire until you can return it. It's all about balance really.
If everyone camps, the game is boring. If everyone rushes about jumping and spraying, the game is boring.

On a side note, I do dislike it when I get told off for using a grenade launcher on infantry, when pretty much every grenade (with the possibly exception of the RPG) has been designed as an anti infantry weapon.
I'd understand it if you were sitting on an ammo crate, spamming 40mm grenades at the enemy, but if you're using it periodically, on grouped targets, a target who is out of direct line of fire, or to destroy cover, I can't see the issue.
You might as well ask people not to use a gun.

It's not called Camping it's called Defending. There is nothing wrong with camping.. or Defending as I call it, I do it ALL the time and if someone try's to camp you, All you gotta do is "CounterCamp".

CounterCamp - The process of defending a postion outside a campers Killzone in hopes they move toward you instead of you moving toward them.

Yeah but all in all I never took all this Halo Jumping, Camping, Hardscopeing, whatever busniess seriously, I'm there to have fun and besides it's all about your Connection Strength in these games. THAT'S what is most important.

And while were on the subject; It's not called the noob tube It's called the Pro Pipe

Yeah, ProPipe

^__^
FINALLY! someone who understands the values of the Pro Pipe.

OT: I love to camp, I hate jumpers, I would like to see anyone who can jump while running sideways and still hit me

Everyone on the other team, at least - as long as you're camping in a way that helps your side win the objective, you're being credit to team.

Plus, if a couple years playing MW2 taught me anything, it's that this is really the only way to play:

IRL camping is pretty awesome too.

People who hate camping don't understand FPS tactics.

Camping is a legitimate strategy because it puts the Camper at a disadvantage, so long as his opponents have any sort of competency.

I've never really went camping in real life. Don't think I'd enjoy the mosquitoes anyway.

In video games, it doesn't bother me. If you're a sniper, then I don't think anyone's even allowed to complain in the first place. It's slightly annoying when a person literally stays in the same spot for the entire match, but it also amounts to easy kills for me (grenades are amazing).
I don't camp for extreme extended periods of time when not sniping, but I'll do it if it helps me/my team. I also [/i]expect[/i] everyone to camp to some degree when playing defense on an objective based game and kills don't directly benefit the team.

That's ok, neither do the rest of us playing on Hardcore ^_^

I don't play CoD anymore, but I used to run with a few guys who were so good they would scare me into a paranoia where in I would try to hide from them. If someone accidentally bumps into my knife or my 9mm, does that really make me a camper?

In BF:BC & BC2 when playing defense on Rush mode, I usually take and hold position. I dont really think you can count that as camping in the tactical sense. On offense, I try to push the line.

I hate the argument that in real life you would hide. Yes, yes you would in real life obviously. But in case you haven't figured it out yet, this is a VIDEO GAME, not real life. Nothing you do in the game will affect you in real life. Camping in video games is a stupid strategy that sucks the fun out of it. We play video games to have fun, not sit in one spot and hope someone walks by.

I normally kill camper either by trial-and-error or by being the better player.
As for other camping

I would say I love it. I spent three weekends this year camping in the snow, one of which was in gale force winds, so we built and slept in an igloo.
Its kind of like metation for me, I guess.

Real life: Pretty fun, do it often, good memories.

Games: Boring. So very, very boring and unsatisfying. Sitting in a corner for five minutes and killing two people isn't as good as running the front, raping the opposing team's defenses and winning the game for everyone, all the time getting more kills and being more helpful.

Why yes, I do play TF2.
