Yeah. Let mes start with a bit of backstory - as one of my new year resolutions, I add some people to my friend list. See, I like some posters but...I always thought they might not like me back or think I was a creep or something if I pressed that "add a friend" link. Dunno, may be unjustufied but I felt that way. So I decide, "why don't I add a bunch of them, that should make it less creepy. I hope". And that was my resolution - I'll add those people next year.
Then I thought "hold on, why next year? Why wait? I know I'll just end up not doing it." so I pulled the date back and decided to do in on Christmas. Some people would get a PM telling them I've added them as a friend for present. Dunno, sort of works, sort of doesn't, but I decided to run with it. Even though not everybody might celebrate Christmas.
That was until a couple of hours ago. I decided to check just how many people I want to add. And since I was checking, I just decided to go ahead and add them. Thing is, I sort of had a bunch of people, I couldn't remember absolutely everybody, and I didn't want to miss (many), so I sought out those I was sure of, went through their freinds lists, found some more I needed, went through their friends lists...you get the idea. One thing led to the other and now 65 people should have gotten those PMs. So much for not looking weird or creepy, I guess.
Oh, and congratulations to those who did get added. You people probably want to know why I chose you, at least I imagine so. Some of you made me smile, others I really enjoy reading posts from, others still amuse me in some different way. Some of you I feel honoured for sharing a forum with. Heck, make that everybody. I also tried to add all Legacy of Kain fans on the Escapist I know of (but see the last paragraph)[footnote]Also, let me tell you, dude, Ragsnstitches, your username is not easy to remember. I remembered the avatar and I knew it starter with "Ra" (although not 100% on the a - could had been an e, too. Or maybe an i) but I wasn't sure if it had g or n after or if it wasn't something else entirely.[/footnote]. Some of you lot I just like talking to. Most of you, perhaps. One person I added to some extent due to their avatar. One I haven't really seen around for quite a while but they are still active (if a bit sporadic) but not as much in OT. There is all kinds of you but as a general rule, it makes me happy you exist. Oh, and there was one person I plan on following home and watch them sleep. You'll know who you are, because I'll also steal a sock from your laundry, leaving you with an odd number of socks.
I just though I'd leave this thread here, instead of sending PMs to each one as to why I added you. I thought you deserved to know as much. So probably some saw the PM the friend notification, went "Wait, what's that all about?" and saw this thread in my most recent posts. At least I hope that happened to somebody. Sort of the point for the thread's existence.
As for the ones that I didn't add as a friend - either I hate you or I missed you. Or I already watched you sleep (you'll know from the odd number of socks again). If you feel I missed you, just add me as a friend, I won't turn you down. And I won't think you're weird, I promise.
But I am positive I missed some people. Some probably I've not "met" so to say, others I legitimately forgot about. I know for sure I missed one LoK person - by the time I was finished, I completely forgot his username. And after going through so many, I just don't have much hope of remembering. I know he has Kain's clan symbol as avatar, or at least had until relatively recently unless he changed it. It's this, by the way:
