Now, as for the discussion: Have you ever fallen in love with a game, only to have it fall apart before your very eyes due to a gross lack of support from the companies responsible for maintaining it?
The PC version of Borderlands is probably the most recent one for me. It was especially blatant how minimally they supported it, because I was playing a couple indie games at the same time that were extraordinarily well-supported, where the devs actually talked to the users and released constant fixes for things, while Gearbox/2k pretty much just went, "Eh. We already have their money. That's good enough, right?" They did eventually fix some of the problems a month or two later, but my friends and I had all stopped playing/caring by then. They may have addressed more of them in the DLC, but I'm not about to give them more money to find out.
Edit: Actually, that's a lie. The most recent one is Duels of the Planeswalkers. The support for that has been absolutely terrible, and there are some enormous, gamebreaking bugs that they still haven't even acknowledged after three updates, much less fixed. Meanwhile, they've been busy patching the code to let you buy DLC just in case you want to give them more money for a game that still doesn't quite work yet...
