I may never purchase another EA game so long as I live.

Crap, now I'm questioning weather I should buy this game, I was going to by it for the multiplayer but if its a lagstorm then no thanks, is anyone here playing the console version and not getting lag?
I play the console version and very rarely suffer from lag, dunno what OP is talking about. Lag in Bad Company is better than it is in MW2 and way, WAY better than it can be in Gears 2.
OT: No, I don't believe a game developer has ever fucked me before.

I've never had any real lag problems for Bad Company 2.
Although I stopped playing it mostly a couple months after it came out.

Oh dear sweet peanut butter I hope some one gets the reference.
SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME REFERENCE!

Darn I hate EA and Microsoft they are so useless, but I love the games they make.
Yes, but you also have to ask whether you would love those games if there was competition. For me all it takes is looking at games by developers that EA has acquired, to see the before/after "photos".

I bet it would be quite a challenge to find a game that retained it's quality/features between pre-acquisition and post-acquisition, let alone actually improved.

if that achievement you mean is the one thats killing people in buildings then i recommend the class noob tube extra nades bigger explosions its like noob tubing in COD only for an achievement in which you take down buildings and also port valdez is a good map for it that and isla something or another i got it after probably 4 weeks straight of playing like that and keeping count of the kills i got...good luck, oh and also the bullets from the side gunner of a transport are really good to take down buildings. the only achievements i need are the ones for the DLC and so i call that a finished game cause i dont want to buy it
Yep, you're correct. I've been primarily bringing down buildings on White Pass with C4, using the recon kit so I could throw down motion mines and know when to detonate without having to expose myself. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to be shot to millions of pieces when I try to do that after the match has gone on for more than thirty seconds. I'll definitely give your tactics a try if the game ever works again, thanks.
well if u were to go and do C4 then id recomend using assult, spaz 12 C4 and then the extra boom boom and then extra C4 but yeah too up close that never works for me but yes it takes a lot of work im not going to lie but it was all i needed for a bit too and i wasnt going to stop,

Now, as for the discussion: Have you ever fallen in love with a game, only to have it fall apart before your very eyes due to a gross lack of support from the companies responsible for maintaining it?
The PC version of Borderlands is probably the most recent one for me. It was especially blatant how minimally they supported it, because I was playing a couple indie games at the same time that were extraordinarily well-supported, where the devs actually talked to the users and released constant fixes for things, while Gearbox/2k pretty much just went, "Eh. We already have their money. That's good enough, right?" They did eventually fix some of the problems a month or two later, but my friends and I had all stopped playing/caring by then. They may have addressed more of them in the DLC, but I'm not about to give them more money to find out.

Edit: Actually, that's a lie. The most recent one is Duels of the Planeswalkers. The support for that has been absolutely terrible, and there are some enormous, gamebreaking bugs that they still haven't even acknowledged after three updates, much less fixed. Meanwhile, they've been busy patching the code to let you buy DLC just in case you want to give them more money for a game that still doesn't quite work yet...

Again, this doesn't necessarily effect everybody, but about as many people are subject to it as those that aren't, through no fault of their own. It's speculated that it has to proximity to the server farms (of which there are only three in the US, where lag is a prominent problem). European servers are also reported to suffer far fewer problems. So, basically, your experience may have to do with your location.

I haven't noticed this quite so much, myself.
But, I don't play BC2 on PC so much.

Wouldn't put it past most of the short-sighted companies out there making games right now, though.

When the Heavy Rain studio said that they would stop producing DLC.

That normally wouldn't be a problem, except that the story was kind of unfinished, and a lot of us were hoping that the DLC would fill in some of the holes.

Not really, besides Epic's incessant refusal to fix the balance issues that almost ruin competitive Gears of War games.

Have fun refusing EA when Mass Effect 3 is on its way...

OT: The pc port of Saints Row 2 was god-awful and made me temporarily suicidal. Unfortunatly, the game was so fun, I managed to play through the stuttering FPS.

This is exactly why I prefer to buy games that put a bigger emphasis on the single-player experience. Something will eventually happen and then you can't play the main meat of game anymore.

OT: Not really anything besides the Sonic series, and I never really liked the gameplay of Sonic games to begin with.

To anyone who says that EA is in any ways directly responsible for anything good should be thrown off a roof into a pit full of very sick elephants for a while. EA can take anything good and kill it. It has happened, is happening, will happen. There is nothing that can be done about this sort of thing. I hate EA, unfortunately they team up with good groups to make good things, but I still can't stand them. And Mirror's Edge sucked.

Lineage 2 started falling a part during the 3rd chronicle because the company running the servers didn't do a damn thing to stop bots and farmers. It didn't take long for most players to have bots and/or farm for money, seems no one wanted to play for the fun of it and it just sucked the fun out of the game.

Aimed at the OP, don't ever say never cause you never know when EA might pull their head out of their ass or release a game that's actually a great game. I'm very disappointed with Nintendo and their Wii console and games, but I'm still waiting to see if they can do a come back.

I see you have discovered H1 tags. good for you

Pro Tip: buy the PC version which uses dedicated servers, pick the server with the right lag.

PM with details me if your PC is not up to scratch and I'll advise you on upgrade options.

The only franchise I know they've killed is Command & Conquar, what else have they killed?

And as for no good games, well I haven't seen any but I heard Mass Effect is good from reliable sources.

Actually, the H1 tags are old news to me. They're just generally frowned upon in normal use, and I figured I'd be able to get away with using them for once since I'm the OP.

And regarding the PC version, well, I can't afford to upgrade my PC. That's the reason why I'm primarily a 360 gamer. Believe you me, if I had the funds to deck out the monstrous quad-core humming quietly in the other room, I would've been all over that a long time ago.

That's a straight out lie. You will buy another EA game, its impossible not to. (Unless you want to miss a lot of very good games).

And yes, the massive delay of the Fallout 3 DLC's for the PS3 pissed me off enormously.
Shit, I just remembered that the Mass Effect series is published by EA. You got me.
not to mention that lag is really a microsoft problem, not an ea one since ms handles all the multiplayer bs on the 360, just ask any pc gamer about games for windows live and how laggy it is
