It certainly does man. There's nothing better than the Hellmarch. On topic, I highly reccomend the sequel to Red Alert: Red Alert 2 aka "Red Dawn RTS the game".

i found that one to be equal to RA1
the increased gameplay makes up for the slightly loose story and increased "cuteness"
i thought RA1s grityness did it credit, but RA2 became a bit too colourful
however, we can all agree that RA3 is practically a positive argument for abortion by itself
ok, thats overly harsh to say the least, but if you argue, you have not played the game. or at least, played it and 1+2
so einstein has been removed, no bomb on japan, so they get more powerful. i get that.
but what about what einstein did with hitler, does that still apply? and where is this in relation to the first war, the second war and the smaller war with yuri[expansion pack]
before any, after all, or bypassing all?

You could easily handle most games, bar Crysis-esque compkillers.

So what's wrong with your PC now? It sounds fairly competent (except for the Vista part).
Not sure about the graphics card. GeForce 8300 is pretty pants, the least good of the 8 series, comparable to motherboard integrated graphics chipsets. Just because 8300 is a bigger number than 7800 doesn't mean it's better.

OT: Most of the greats have been mentioned already[footnote]Deus Ex high-five![/footnote], but if turn-based strategy is your thing, try Space Empires IV. And for adventures, Dreamfall.

American McGee's Alice is a great old PC game. Problem is that it's kind of expensive. If you can get it though I definitely recommend it.

I was addicted to it for a long time. It's challenging but rewarding I think. Plus they're coming out with a second one!

Lolwut? How does it tell if you have a laptop? Why does it matter if you meet the specs?

Starcraft is a fantastic RTS that can be easily run.
Also, KotOR 1 and 2 can both be run pretty easily.

All of these are absolutely necessary. As to the Thief series, it is difficult to run dark project and metal age on any system made after 407 A.D. so good luck with that endeavor. Deadly Shadows only runs on desktops so if you're system is a laptop, you're sol. Otherwise, they are all great games. Rune, if you can find it, is fucking awesome as well. Oh, and if you're into any kind of flight sims or space sims, Descent: Freespace and its sequel are pretty much the best you can buy. Absolutely epic games.
Deadly Shadows does run on laptops, Maybe it just requires a little tweaking.
Ok, maybe it's changed. But when it came out, it was incompatible with any existing laptop chipsets.

You enjoyed C&C Generals, Zero Hour? More importantly, you know what it is?

You, sir, have good taste.

Age of Mythology. RTS + Mythology = Awesome. Plus there are Canadian superhero bears who shoot lasers from their eyes and make Zero Wing references.
