AVG.

By far the best IMO.
i remember using AVG once. and it arsed around im my face more than ever (though that was a while ago so they hmay have changed that idunno)
It works well for me and has saved my laptop on more than one occasion. As long as you don't click on the like that asks you to pay for the full version that pops up every now and again it works great.

Avast is also quite good although it never seemed to help me even though there was something wrong with my laptop. But then again it's a pirate's software and pirates are awesome. Yarhhh matey *spitlle* *cough cough*

I can't remember whether it was Avant or Avast but one of them every time it did everything it would tell me in an annoying computerised voice... god I hated that thing.

I think that might have been Avast. I know that pretty much after every scan I did the lovely woman with the lovely momotone voice came up and said "Scan has been completed" Arrrrggg shut up!!!

If this was I pirates voice though I would have been very impressed. Avast, comes with a free pirate.

Avant may possibly have the same voice thing but I'm not sure.

I must say Microsoft Security Essentials is the way to go if you are running Windows.

Come back to me when I'm sure which ones are real and which ones are virus's. This is the second time this has happened!

I have been using avast for a bit over 2 years now. Never got a virus.
I also use Malwarebtyes for the stuff that avast can't catch. Though I rarely get malware

Either way I couldn't stand it and went back to AVG.

A pirates voice would've been amazing...

Virus detected:
"Shiver me timber... Virus ahoy!"

Move Virus to vault:
"Walk the plank landlubber!"

I get happy thoughts just thinking about it.

AVG i think is the best free one and also malware bytes is really good for more powerful virus's

i dont know what its like now but norton used to be a piece of malware in itself being a system hog and stopping itself from being uninstalled

i personaly use NOD 32 and malware bytes they offer some of the best protection with low CPU usage

Why not just buy one?

I use Norton (here comes the hate) and i have never had a problem with a slow system or it being to much of a pain.
YOU CAN'T HACK ME! I GOT NORTON!

OT: Buy McAfee or NOD 32, they're both very user friendly and not that expensive

I just use Avira Personal and Spybot coupled with common sense and no porn.
Sry for double post, but I just read this.
Are you serious about the no porn? I mean common sense, I know what sites are wrong, but not all porn sites are unsafe. You just need to find the right ones.
Do have a question though:

If you don't get your porn from the internet, where do you get it?

This one works great. Works so well that it was the first antivirus I decided to pay for
