you got to try the Xcom series. they sell it on steam for 15$ for the 5 games...

it's turn base, if you liked fallout, you might like this one...

I'd say any of the Baldur's Gate games. I'd also suggest Thief: The Dark Project/Metal Age (if you like stealth games, you didn't show any, but I'd just like to get that out there).

Have you tried Overlord? I just picked it up and I'm digging it.
That's worth a try (judging by your tastes) for a good price.

I recommend Summoner 2/Summoner: A Goddess Reborn - I enjoyed it a whole lot, even though there are so many sidequest I couldn't even begin to count.

Edit: Sorry, my bad - It's only on PS2 and GC.

Try looking at Good Old Games' catalog (gog.com) for some oldies but goodies ported to XP/Vista compatibility. I found out last night that they have Beyond Good and Evil for $10, for instance, and the PC Fallout titles (including Tactics) for the same... directly downloadable, and no DRM. (Plus some of the money goes to the original designers.)

I just finished Titan Quest:Immortal Throne, and really enjoyed it! It's a Diablo knock-off, but they improved it quite a bit. There's a ton of loot, ways to enhance all weapons and armor to the nth degree, and an effecting magic system. Not only that, but I got it about a year ago for 20$, well worth the price! Good story as well, based in Greek, Roman, Chinese, and Egyptian mythology. Graphics are excellent and do not look dated, still crispy and clean on a 24" LCD.

Decent review here: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/titan-quest-immortal-throne-/772855p1.html

Planescape: Torment

That is all.
I _REALLY_ loved this when it came out, but recently installed it again and the graphics just don't stand up. They are poor enough that they tend to be a distraction. :(

Beyond Good and Evil is a must.

And it works even on laptops, despite awesome graphics.

Ahhh, overlord, a truly silly yet fun game. I love the imps. Played and beaten a few times, a chance to be evil... or not so evil. A great game, the unofficial DK III. Didja know it was designed by a few of Bullfrog's staff? Who moved to Code Masters when Bullfrog went under. They obviously couldn't call it DK III {Dungeon Keeper} but it has been hinted that is where the idea came from.

If you liked Fable, you won't like it anymore after you've played Morrowind and seen what a western RPG is supposed to look like.

You heard right. It hits most of the notes but isn't quite as good as the original (think Smash Mouth's cover of I'm a Believer for a music analogy---it's played straight.) Still worth recommending if you like mouse-shredding games.

If by GTA(ish) you mean sandbox action games, Morrowind again fits that bill perfectly (even though it's an RPG rather than a third-person action game), and you may want to try Mount&Blade as well.

Finally, if you're looking for a great old turn-based strategy game, pick up either X-COM or Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.

Depending on your rig, you might want to check out one of the "X" games, they're space combat/trading games. The newest one "x3 - The terran conflict" is EXTREMLY heavy on your computer, incredible enviroments. They're all open-ended sandbox (with an optional storyline), allowing you to build an empire of your own if you wish. An excellent game to play over a long time, since it takes some time to get the biggest ships.

I've seen some good recommendations in this topic, so I'll just repeat:

Planescape: Torment
Deus Ex
Beyond Good and Evil
Overlord
World of Goo

Just look them up on metacritic and take a pick.

Planescape:Torment, Beyond Good and Evil, and Deus Ex have already come up a lot in this thread, So I'll Mention

RPG:
-Arcanum
-Vampire The Masquerade:Bloodlines

RTS:
-Tiberium Sun

FPS:
-No One Lives Forever
-System Shock 2

And if you really want to play a bizzare/interesting game (And you've already done Psychonauts) try "American Mcgee's Alice." It's short, somewhat shallow, but it feels so absurd its enjoyable.

Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars (aka Circle of Blood)
Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror

Hell, any old adventure game is worth playing.
