*snickers like a retard*

Seriously, you can't get metal influence from a non-metal band.
Considering metal itself has been influenced by almost everything at some point or another... you can take influences from pretty much anywhere and if you're skilled enough as a musician you can make them work.
Also, which of those four isn't metal in your opinion? Lamb of god and metallica are Heavy metal and thrash, respectively, and slipknot and avenged sevenfold come under heavy metal or metalcore. I'm confuzzled...
Metallica is classic.

Lamb of God is fucking Lamb of God.

Slipknot is Slipknot.

Avenged Sevenfold is the metal equivalent of a boy band.

Cadaver dogs?
Corpus Delicti?
False Dilemma?
Homonculous Fallacy?
Illicit Major?
Loki's Wager?
Proof my Verbosity?
Reification? (Yeah, its spelled correctly)
Wrong Direction?
Overwhelming exception?
Appeal to Fear?
Appeal to Spite?
Poisoning the Well?

OK, I admit it. I just grabbed my old Logic text book and looked at a list of fallacies for most of these. But they're some interesting phrases nonetheless, and its fun when band names have meanings behind them, and it will make you seem smart to boot.

Stolen from another Escapist who got it from the two-random-page-Wikipedia-band-name thing, but:

I love your dad's idea.

In all seriousness, go with something that would instantly remind people of one of your songs (preferably a GOOD song). Or go with something like The [number of band members].

Pretty much what the title says. I'm in a metal band with our main influences from metallica, slipknot, avenged sevenfold and lamb of god. Currently, we sound like speeded up thrash metal with some tap/shred solos thrown in.

We only formed recently and have a few songs written and a couple of covers nailed as well, including a metalled up version of muse's hysteria. Everything has been going well and we're thinking of beginning to play some live shows soon. However, we still lack a name! It fell to me as our main songwriter to come up with a name but unfortunately, since my dad suggested 'Raymondo Klegg and his Amazing Whistling Ferrets' my brain just pops that up whenever I search for new ideas.

So, because I'm too lazy to do it myself; I'll ask if any of you at the escapist can think of a band name that would look suitable alongside the likes of Metallica and Lamb of God in the headlining spot of a metal festival- or just on the sign outside a club or bar. Suggestions for turning such a name into a brutal logo, or a mascot to rival eddie, would also be extremely welcome!
Metalknot Sevengod.

but seriously, I have no idea
