In the immortal words of Mitch Hedberg, call your band, Injured. Or Slightly Bruised. But for something bad-ass, I'd say Souleater, or Firesoul.

'Raymondo Klegg and his Amazing Whistling Ferrets'
Hahaha if I were you I'd just go with that or I suggest to you the name Pretty Manly Sounds or P.M.S. for short.

hmm, lets see
its a metal band and the lyrics probably get satanic so id suggest something from the bible, Revelation
The Army of Michael
5 Kings Bearing Gifts

something like that

if you want something random id go with something like
Quest for Noodles
Conquerors of Na'Sal'Ho'Tah
Xenophobia (the fear of strangers btw)

Something along those lines

and because its the Escapist ill give some Video-Games related names
Rapture
The Cake is NOT a lie
Resisting Arrest

Pretty much what the title says. I'm in a metal band with our main influences from metallica, slipknot, avenged sevenfold and lamb of god. Currently, our songs vary between sounding like thrash to melodic-death metal. Lots of fast, heavy riffing or slower chugging. Solos are all shredded/tapped. Vocals are a mix of clean singing, growled, shouted and screamed.
We only formed recently and have a few songs written and a couple of covers nailed as well, including a metalled up version of muse's hysteria. Everything has been going well and we're thinking of beginning to play some live shows soon. However, we still lack a name! It fell to me as our main songwriter to come up with a name but unfortunately, since my dad suggested 'Raymondo Klegg and his Amazing Whistling Ferrets' my brain just pops that up whenever I search for new ideas.

So, because I'm too lazy to do it myself; I'll ask if any of you at the escapist can think of a band name that would look suitable alongside the likes of Metallica and Lamb of God in the headlining spot of a metal festival- or just on the sign outside a club or bar. Suggestions for turning such a name into a brutal logo, or a mascot to rival eddie, would also be extremely welcome!

EDIT: So far, Legion, Nuclear Sunset, Vice Grip, Hell Exibit and Teddy Bear Autopsy are taking the top spots. The last one is less serious than I would've normally gone for but hell, we can change it later.

Shrapnel was also mentioned, which I like the sound of...
I prefer irony and wordplay in my band names. My friends and I put together a really really terrible garage band (I played bass) when we were high school, and we called ourselves 'A Void', as in 'avoid' as well as 'an emptiness'. A quick google search shows that there is some bad electronica band on myspace called avoid-a-void, but only one reference, and A Void should be sufficiently different. Bonus points if you read the book.

'Purge' is also a name that I'm fond of. It has a lot of really nasty meanings. I don't know if I'd give you that one tho. I'm still noodling around with AudioForge and I might actually do something with that one of these years.
