I listen to classic rock and rap, so here are some artists who I'd recommend:
Led Zeppelin
The Doors
The Beatles
The Who
AC/DC
The Rolling Stones
Eminem
Mac Lethal
Mac Miller
Aesop Rock

Those are just a few, but I like all of them.

I'm so glad I find other people who like Aesop Rock.
Mac Miller is a nice guy(he went to my school) but I don't enjoy any of his music.
OT:If you could be more specific, I'd be glad to help, but as of now, I'm just thinking about listing all the artist I have.
starters:Lamb of God, Disturbed, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Winds of Plague, GWAR, Mercanary.
But seriously, give some specifications.

EDIT: Just wanted to add, A Perfect Circle.

iTunes, pff. Sell them to someone else or just get a bunch of random albums from the Alternative section.
In the meantime, download this guy [https://inkbunny.net/Ghost334]'s music. :3

One of my latest preferred songs is Friday, by Rebecca Black. You should definitely listen to it a few times.

Give us something to work with. What kind of music do you listen to now? That should help people make suggestions based on what you like.

OP, anytime that you say "I like basically anything" you might as well say "Hey escapist, post random music".

So with that, I'm going to post some of my PT music. Be sure to turn the volume up real loud before hitting play.

Its a Trap!

Also OP

Underground is a very broad, but if your referring to acts that would be considered Indie or tend to be grouped with Indie.

Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Arcade Fire and The Strokes

Underground as nearly unheard of groups that are really good.

Girl Talk*, Childs, Yuck!, !!! (band name), and The Antlers

Girl Talk's work can be downloaded free and legally. http://illegal-art.net/allday/

Underground as is Punk

Joy Division, Rites of Spring, Cap'n Jazz and Pansy Division *Kind of a guilty pleasure of mine*

Underground as in Rap

Can't help you, not in a "I'm too holy for rap kind of way" but in a "I have yet to explore and find artists I like" kind of way.

If you like epic music, look no further than E.S. Posthumus. If you don't mind a bit of metal with your epic music and orchestrals, give Nightwish a listen.

There's an awesome band called Enter the Haggis, which is basically rock with a bit of Scotland in it. I'm talking head-banging tunes with bagpipes--give them a listen. Also, the Vitamin String Quartet has a huge repertoire of stringed adaptations of songs you know an love. Try listening to their version of Through the Fire and the Flames, it will blow your mind.
